Since BTS debuted on Instagram in December 2021, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook have gained millions of followers. However, a netizen accused Jimin of buying followers after it allegedly increased dramatically this month.

As of this writing, Jimin has 39 million Instagram followers, and the netizen wonders how he can amass a cult following without promotions and even being inactive. As expected, many come to the singer-dancer's rescue.

AllKpop noted the netizen who made the accusation said the 26-year-old star would usually gain 50,000 followers a day. However, it explosively grew to 150,000 daily in July.

The netizen explained that the idol used to have the lowest increase in the number of followers from the group in June when they visited the White House, dropped a new album and did music promotions. He even alleged that their ninth-anniversary Festa did nothing to help him gain followers.

Starting on July 1, the netizen continued that Jimin didn't have any activities, but his number of followers continuously increased. He also noticed the increase in Spotify ranking, stressing an odd change where Jimin suddenly gained and lost a lot of followers.

From there, he suspected that Jimin was buying social media followers. He also pointed out Jimin's loss of Spotify followers, explaining the platform would usually remove bot accounts.

Of course, ARMYs have come to Jimin's rescue and shot down the netizen's malicious claims, with one saying no famous idol will need to buy followers.

Meanwhile, Jimin showed his support to his fellow BTS member J-Hope when the latter dropped his single "More" on July 1. The show is a pre-release from his upcoming solo album, "Jack in the Box."

Jimin shared a post on his Instagram featuring a screenshot of the key art of "More." By the looks of it, he seemed to be playing the track on Spotify and even gave it a thumb's up.

In the second photo, he shared a selfie with J-Hope. The black-and-white snap featured the two doing the peace sign.

J-Hope showed his gratefulness and commented on the post, writing "Love You donsaeng," which means younger sibling in Korean, per News18. He also added it with a red heart, fire and emoji.

J-Hope also shared Jimin's post on his Instagram Story and added a series of pink heart emojis. As the post started to gather likes, fans noticed it was the first time Jimin tagged someone in his post, so it must be special.
