The Granolah the Survivor Arc has officially ended, so fans are looking forward to seeing a new saga starting in "Dragon Ball Super" Chapter 88. Frieza debuted his new form, Black Frieza, and many speculate that he will be the series' next main villain.
Unfortunately, the series announced it would be on an indefinite hiatus at the end of its latest chapter before it would start a new arc. That said, it may take a little while before "Dragon Ball Super" Chapter 88 finally comes out.
Fans saw how Frieza defeated Goku and Vegeta effortlessly in their most powerful form without breaking a sweat. The two Saiyans are yet to be as powerful as they dream of being.
Hence, the new chapter may focus on their new training regimen to gain more strength. They need to work hard to reach Frieza's level and be his formidable opponents, so they have to train harder this time.
"Dragon Ball Super" Chapter 88 may also focus on their attempts to master new transformations. Goku is still learning how to successfully wield his True Ultra Instinct, while Vegeta still needs to learn how to reap the force of destruction without ending up killing himself in a fight.
Meanwhile, "Dragon Ball Super" Chapter 87 saw Frieza crush Gas' skull, stunning Vegeta and asking himself how he could do it, knowing the latter possessed incredible strength. Frieza turned to Elec and asked him why he called him.
The afraid Elec revealed it was only a miscommunication on his part, but Frieza believed he lured him so that Gas could kill him. Frieza then said he knew the Heeters' plan to seize him, but he let them conspire for his army's benefit.
This left Elec surprised, while Frieza continued that he knew everything about the galaxy. He then mocked Elec, calling him the weakest in the family, making the latter outraged.
He tried to attack Frieza but to no avail. Frieza then turned to Goku and Vegeta, who wanted to know how he managed to kill Gas despite being the strongest in the universe.
Frieza said it might be because he was in another dimension, making them confuse. He then stated he couldn't let the Saiyans surpass him and had a room where time flew differently on one of his conquered planets.
He continued that he had trained for 10 years to gain power. From there, Frieza showed his new form, Black Frieza, leaving Goku and Vegeta speechless and unveiled his power by effortlessly defeating his enemy even if they were in their full-powered forms.
"Dragon Ball Super" Chapter 88 is expected to be out on Thursday, October 20, after the manga's indefinite hiatus.
