A royal expert believes King Charles III may remove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal titles if their upcoming Netflix docuseries prove damaging to the royal family. As the show gets controversial ahead of its release, will its revelations incite His Majesty to unleash his "ruthless side?"
The premiere episode of "The Crown" Season 5 turned controversial after former U.K Prime Minister John Major complained of its storyline involving him and King Charles discussing taking over the throne. So, will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's docuseries feature another controversy?
Vanity Fair's royal editor Katie Nicholl claimed the monarch might have no second thoughts and quickly decided to remove the Sussexes', including their kids', royal titles if they continued to make damaging revelations against the royal family in their docuseries.
She told "GB News" that the royal couple has been known for bravely criticizing the institution and unleashing "pretty low blows" in the past. However, her alleged sources claimed it might reveal King Charles' ruthless side if they continued to do it.
Nicholl continued that the King would never stand back and let family, the institution, and someone from the royal family disrespects the crown's reputation. In fact, this may have something to do with his delayed decision to give royal titles to Archie and Lilibet.
"I think that whole issue of titles is up for discussion," she added. "That trust, that respect has to be earned."
So, if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to trash the institution's reputation, their kid and even them may no longer have royal titles.
Meanwhile, Netflix is allegedly rattled by "The Crown" Season 5 backlash that it has decided to delay the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's docuseries until next year. The show is reportedly set to be out in December, but it may no longer happen.
The controversy began when Major complained that the series' premiere episode saw him and the then-Prince Charles talking about the latter's complaints about waiting to take over the throne. From there, the show started to be in the headlines, making the streaming giant's big bosses think they would be fools if they followed this backlash with the release of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's docuseries in December.
Hence, they decided to postpone its release. Rumors have it that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want to edit some scenes in their show for the alleged remarks that may affect King Charles, Camilla, Queen Consort, Prince William, and Kate Middleton after Queen Elizabeth II died in September.
