For the first time, Prince Harry was conspicuously absent from the Trooping the Colour celebrations, an omission speculated by royal experts to be related to his recent actions deemed as an embarrassment to the royal family.
Reports surfaced indicating that neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle were invited to King Charles' inaugural birthday parade as the British Monarch, marking an unprecedented exclusion for the Duke of Sussex.
Discussing this development on "GB News," Kinsey Schofield, a renowned royal analyst and author of "R is for Revenge Dress," suggested that Prince Harry's recent legal skirmishes could be a reason behind this omission. "This significant event marks the King's birthday, where we've seen Harry and Meghan participate during the Queen's tenure," she said. "The Daily Mail, however, reports that they won't be partaking in this year's celebration. It's conceivable that Harry's recent actions, perceived as embarrassing to his family, could have contributed to this development."
Prince Harry has been engaged in a legal feud with Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), recently testifying against them in London. The Prince alleged that he was dissuaded from suing the publishers by King Charles himself.
Recalling the incident, the Duke stated, "I received an explicit directive from Buckingham Palace, specifically from my father, Edward Young, and my father's private secretary, Clive Alderton, to cease all legal actions due to their potential repercussions on the entire family."
Echoing Schofield's views on Sky News Australia's "The Rita Panahi Show" was writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue. She concurred that Prince Harry's omission from the parade could be a consequence of his perceived embarrassment to the royals.
Krakue stated, "The Sussexes have been generating controversies for the royal family for years. Therefore, it seems fitting to exclude them from such events, especially given Prince Harry's recent court appearance."
She criticized Prince Harry's courtroom demeanor, saying, "His approach seemed ill-prepared, mirroring his Oprah interview where he discussed his feelings and how certain articles from 1991 to 2011 affected him." She added that "one's feelings hold little sway in the courtroom," especially against the likes of experienced barrister Andrew Green.
While Prince Harry's court testimony reopened old wounds, including his relationship with former girlfriend Chelsy Davy and the media's role in their breakup, these claims made in the court could not be independently verified by Business Times.
