Kelly Osbourne's recent podcast tirade against Prince Harry has drawn varied responses, with some accusing her of exploiting the Sussex narrative for attention and rehashing her past indiscretions. Others, however, argued she merely voiced what many think.
During the June 20th episode of the "I've Had It" podcast, Osbourne used a string of explicit language to describe Prince Harry, leading to co-hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan's fits of laughter. Osbourne expressed her frustration with the Duke's public handling of his mental health, accusing him of excessive self-pity and complaining.
She stated, "He's a whining, complaining, woe is me, 'I'm the only one that's ever had mental problems. My life was so hard.'" Prince Harry has indeed been candid about his mental health struggles during numerous interviews, such as his conversation with Oprah Winfrey in "The Me You Can't See," and during panel discussions for BetterUp, where he holds the title of Chief Impact Officer (CIO).
For Osbourne, Harry's emotional burdens are shared by many, yet she criticised his approach, stating, "Everybody's fing life is hard. You were the prince of a goddamn country who dressed up as a fing Nazi and now you're trying to come back as the Pope? Suck it." She referred to the Duke's 2005 scandal when he donned a Nazi uniform to a costume party, an incident he described as a regrettable error during his 2022 Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" and in his memoir "Spare."
The expletive-laden criticism from the former "Osbournes" star sparked a flurry of contrasting reactions. Some commended her for voicing her opinions openly, with one YouTube commenter noting, "Kelly is just saying what's on everyone's mind."
Others condemned her for belittling the Duke's mental health battles and public discussions about them. Comments like "This is just sick comments coming from a very ill child," and "Mental health is not something to be judged like this!" surfaced.
Osbourne's words also stirred up old controversies, notably her 2015 comment on "The View" about Latinos, which some cited as a basis for hypocrisy. One commenter reminded, "Pretty rich coming from miss 'who's gonna clean your toilets Donald Trump,'" while another pointed to her own questionable past behavior on "The Osbournes."
Others applauded Prince Harry for his transparency about his mental health struggles and accused Osbourne of leveraging the Sussexes for publicity and profit. Amid these exchanges, Osbourne's outburst occurred in a conversation about Prince Harry's placement in the third row at King Charles III's coronation on May 6, a decision she disagreed with, arguing he should have been at the forefront due to his familial ties.
