Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's public image is on a downward spiral, according to the latest YouGov poll results. Speaking on the matter, royal analysts Lady Colin Campbell and Richard Fitzwilliams indicated that the diminishing popularity of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is well-earned.
Appearing recently on "GB News" with host Dan Wootton, the duo discussed the couple's fall in popularity ratings. YouGov's poll pointed out a sharp drop, revealing a rating of -47 for Markle and -36 for Prince Harry.
Lady Campbell responded to the poll results with a hint of humor, stating, "I didn't realize they were still as popular as the numbers suggest. I would have pegged it at -220." She added, "Their current standing is entirely warranted. They brought it upon themselves, and they're reaping the fruits. As the saying goes in Jamaica, 'Spit in the sky, and it might fall in your eye.' It appears they're experiencing just that."
Dan Wootton also noted the changing sentiments in Hollywood towards the Sussexes, to which Campbell enthusiastically agreed. She said, "I've been talking to Hollywood insiders, and they affirm what you've mentioned before. It appears Netflix is prepared to bid them farewell. It's quite the heartbreaking situation, isn't it?"
Fitzwilliams concurred with Campbell, stating that the Sussexes' current ratings are justified. He further pointed out that the couple has shown little concern for their British public image, which is apparent from the recent polls. He expressed a keen interest in seeing their popularity ratings in America.
Rumors are circulating that Netflix is considering severing ties with the couple. Fitzwilliams thinks this might incite a reaction from the duo. He said, "If they were to lose Netflix after losing Spotify and failing to trademark 'Archetypes', it would be a monumental blow. I expect them to counter."
He continued, "If their path gets rougher, many might find satisfaction in their downfall, given the ruthless way they've self-promoted. It's all quite the spectacle."
