Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II, once found herself ensnared in a passionate liaison with Hollywood's Eddie Fisher, a revelation that has recently come to light in a new memoir. This affair, which took place in 1953, has been described as a night of "explosive sex," with Fisher allegedly boasting about the intensity of their rendezvous.
Terry Richard, Fisher's fourth wife, has unveiled these intimate details in her memoir titled "Beauty Queen Dreams." Richard, who was married to Fisher from 1975 to 1976, shared with the Daily Mail that Fisher often reminisced about that night with Princess Margaret. "Eddie never talked about Princess Margaret in public, he respected her too much, but he told me about their encounter many, many times during our marriage. He looked back on it with great affection," Richard revealed.
The rendezvous between Fisher and Princess Margaret took place at the Red, White and Blue charity ball at the Dorchester Hotel in London in 1953. The event was graced by the presence of Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother. Fisher, then a 24-year-old single man, was immediately smitten by the 22-year-old Princess. "Eddie was smitten with her the first time he saw her," Richard recalled. "He sang for 45 minutes at the ball and directed all his love songs straight at Margaret. When Eddie turned on the charm, he really turned it on."
Interestingly, at the time of this affair, Princess Margaret was secretly engaged to Captain Peter Wooldridge Townsend. Despite this, she boldly invited Fisher to Clarence House after the ball. Richard admired Margaret's audacity, stating, "Her mother and her sister, the Queen, were at the event, and she had the courage to whisper in Eddie's ear and proposition him for sex."
The details of their passionate encounter are vividly described in Richard's memoir. Fisher, who was known for his charm and charisma, reportedly had one of the most intense and passionate nights of his life with the Princess. Margaret, known for her rebellious streak, wore a see-through negligee with lace embellishments for the tryst. Fisher, on the other hand, had been injected with a concoction of amphetamines, steroids, painkillers, and animal hormones, which he referred to as "vitamin" shots from a "Dr. Feelgood."
Richard shared some intimate details, stating, "He told me the sex was explosive. Margaret wasn't a virgin. She was uninhibited in bed. It went on for ages and they were both satisfied, multiple times. Eddie told me they 'fit perfectly,' and she cried out 'Eddie! Oh, Eddie!' over and over."
This royal affair was first brought to public attention in 2016 by Fisher's daughter, Carrie Fisher, during her appearance on "The Jonathan Ross Show." She confirmed the liaison, saying, "My father had sex with Princess Margaret. In a beautiful way, they made love."
Princess Margaret's life was always under the media's scrutiny due to her rebellious nature and romantic entanglements. After ending her relationship with Captain Townsend, she married photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones in 1960. The couple had two children before divorcing in 1978. Margaret passed away in 2002 at the age of 71.
Eddie Fisher, on the other hand, led a colorful life, marrying multiple times, including to Hollywood icons Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor. He fathered four children, including actresses Carrie Fisher and Joely Fisher. Eddie Fisher passed away in 2010.
