K-pop group Blackpink has received the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) from King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

On November 22 (local time), multiple foreign media outlets reported that King Charles III awarded the MBE to Blackpink members Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa during a cultural and artistic appreciation event held at Buckingham Palace. King Charles III also engaged in conversation with the members while shaking hands.

The MBE awarded to Blackpink is a fifth-class honor in the five-class system of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, a distinction previously received by notable figures such as The Beatles and Adele.

The British Royal Family, through their official social media channels, posted photos and videos of Blackpink receiving the honor, stating, "Blackpink was awarded this honor in recognition of their contributions as ambassadors of COP26, held in Glasgow, UK, in 2021." Appointed as United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Advocates (SDG Advocate) in 2021, Blackpink has actively delivered messages on 'Climate Change Response' and 'Education,' two of the 17 main goals, until 2023.

In addition to serving as ambassadors for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), hosted by the UK, the group has participated in various public interest campaigns, raising awareness among the global youth about climate change.

Meanwhile, Blackpink, having recently completed their 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK],' the largest world tour by a K-pop girl group attracting over 1.8 million fans, is currently in talks with YG Entertainment for a contract renewal.

As various rumors about Blackpink's renewal continue to surface, the recent appearance of the group in its entirety has elicited a warm response from fans.
