The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported substantial progress in their ongoing operation against Hamas and Islamic Jihad factions within the Gaza Strip, particularly focusing on Al-Shifa Hospital, which has become a significant battleground in this protracted conflict. According to the IDF, over 170 Hamas fighters have been neutralized since Monday, with more than 800 suspects detained in a series of coordinated raids on the hospital and surrounding areas.

This operation marks a critical phase in Israel's broader campaign to dismantle terrorist infrastructure within Gaza. The IDF's strategic incursion into Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's primary medical facility, has revealed extensive caches of weapons and terrorist operational setups, highlighting the complex nature of urban warfare in densely populated areas.

Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman, the chief of the IDF Southern Command, underscored the operation's importance, stating it will end "only when the last of the terrorists are in our hands, dead or alive."

The operation has not only focused on direct combat. Israeli fighter jets have targeted approximately 35 sites across the Gaza Strip, aiming to disrupt the operational capabilities of Hamas and Islamic Jihad by striking their headquarters, military positions, and support infrastructure. This multifaceted approach illustrates the IDF's efforts to weaken the terrorist groups' strategic and logistical networks.

Meanwhile, the international community is closely monitoring the unfolding situation, with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres calling for an immediate ceasefire during his visit to the Rafah crossing in Egypt. Guterres emphasized the humanitarian crisis, describing the blockade of relief trucks into Gaza as a "moral outrage."

Adding to the regional complexity, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei commented on the conflict, predicting a withdrawal of U.S. support for Israel and forecasting the eventual "eradication" of Israel by Palestinian forces and regional allies.

In addition to the operations in Gaza, the U.S. has conducted airstrikes on underground storage facilities and drone assets within Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, indicating the broader scope of counterterrorism efforts in the region.

The IDF's operation at Al-Shifa Hospital represents a significant tactical maneuver within the larger canvas of the Israel-Hamas conflict. As the IDF continues its campaign, the international community remains divided, with calls for peace and humanitarian aid juxtaposed against the stark reality of ongoing military operations.
