Sean "Diddy" Combs' former nanny, Raven Walden, has dismissed her wrongful termination lawsuit against the embattled rapper, according to court records obtained by RadarOnline.com. The dismissal comes just months after Walden demanded that Diddy be sanctioned for allegedly refusing to turn over documents related to the case.
Walden, who worked for Combs from 2018 to 2020, informed the court that she was dropping the entire case with prejudice, despite previously claiming that she was wrongfully terminated after revealing her pregnancy to the rapper and his team. In her now-dismissed lawsuit, Walden alleged that she was hired to take care of Diddy and his late ex-wife Kim Porter's twins, Jessie James and D'Lila, following Porter's tragic death from lobar pneumonia in November 2018.
The ex-nanny claimed that she moved into Diddy's Los Angeles mansion to provide support for the family but was fired after Diddy discovered she was pregnant. Walden alleged that the rapper told her it wasn't a good example for his twins to be cared for by someone expecting a child out of wedlock and demanded unspecified damages in the lawsuit.
At the time of the lawsuit's filing, a representative for Diddy described the case as a "meritless shakedown" and denied any intention of hiring Walden as a long-term employee. "Her babysitting services were always intended to be temporary, especially since the girls were getting older and spending most of the day at school," the rep stated, insisting that the termination had nothing to do with Walden's pregnancy and was instead related to her poor job performance.
Throughout the legal proceedings, Walden also claimed to be Porter's niece, an assertion that Diddy vehemently denied. The rapper's legal team demanded the case be dismissed, accusing Walden of failing to "satisfactorily perform her job responsibilities, and otherwise conduct herself in accordance with the standards and policies of Combs Defendants."
The dismissal of Walden's lawsuit comes as a minor legal victory for Diddy, who remains embroiled in a series of legal troubles, including multiple federal lawsuits over alleged sexual assault and an ongoing FBI sex trafficking investigation that has led to raids on the mogul's homes.
During the discovery phase of the wrongful termination case, Walden's lawyer accused Diddy and his team of being "completely evasive in their discovery responses" and demanded $5,000 in sanctions. In response, Diddy's attorney argued that the documents sought had been produced and that Walden's counsel had "manufactured a dispute that did not exist."
The dismissal of the wrongful termination lawsuit renders the sanctions issue moot, but Diddy has yet to publicly comment on the case's resolution. The rapper, who has been keeping a low profile in Miami, continues to face significant legal challenges that threaten to tarnish his reputation and career.
