Actress Rebel Wilson has sent shockwaves through British high society with revelations from her newly published memoir, "Rebel Rising," in which she claims she was invited to a lavish drug-fuelled orgy in Southern California by a British royal in 2014. The identity of the mystery royal, described by Wilson as being "fifteenth or twentieth in line" to the throne, has become the subject of intense speculation among British aristocrats.

In the memoir excerpt, Wilson, 44, recounts receiving a last-minute invite to a party hosted by a U.S. tech billionaire just outside Los Angeles, where "more girls" were needed. She describes the event as "insane," with acrobats, jousting, and mermaids in the pool. As the night progressed, Wilson claims that illegal drugs, or "molly," were passed around on a tray, and a screenwriter informed her that "the orgies normally start at these things about this time."

"Now the comment by the Windsor about needing more girls started to make a lot more sense," Wilson wrote, referring to the unnamed royal. The actress, who was a virgin at the time, says she left the party "as fast as" she could upon realizing the nature of the event.

The revelations have sparked a furious game of Clue among British aristocrats, who are attempting to uncover the identity of the minor royal in question. One British heir to a baronetcy told The Daily Beast, "The genius of it is that by saying they were fifteenth or twentieth in line to the throne ten years ago, I mean, that's a huge pool of people. There are vast numbers of Windsor cousins, and some of them have spent and do spend quite a lot of time out in the U.S."

Several names have been put forward by society gossips, but friends and acquaintances of the rumored individuals have dismissed the suggestions. One aristocrat, a friend of various minor royals, dismissed gossip that the royal in question was a particular relative of the king known for a party lifestyle, stating, "It couldn't be him. He might have been invited to a party, but the idea of him organizing girls, staying up all night and doing drugs and having an orgy at that stage in his life is ridiculous."

Another name floated around is that of a member of the royal family well known in society circles for their careless approach to drug-taking. A friend of this person said, "The drugs certainly sounds like his scene, but not the sex party thing. I guess she can't prove it because otherwise she would have said who it was."

The British royal family has a long history of secret wild parties, often protected by a loyal coterie of friends. Princess Margaret and her first husband, Lord Snowdon, were amongst the most well-known royal hedonists, with their Kensington Palace apartment serving as a centre of gravity for Swinging London in the 1960s. Other royals and royally connected aristocrats, including Prince Harry, Lord Frederick Windsor, and Tom Parker Bowles, have been caught with or admitted to using drugs in the past.

While Wilson's memoir bombshells continue to send shockwaves, the actress has also made headlines for identifying former Grimsby costar Sacha Baron Cohen as the "massive a------" she wrote about in her book, claiming he acted inappropriately on the set of their 2016 movie. A spokesperson for the Borat star has fired back at the allegations, calling them "demonstrably false claims."
