Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have both found love again since ending their marriage in 2018. However, a legal disagreement prevents them from fully moving on with their lives.

The former couple, who met on the set of the 2006 dance film “Step Up” and have a 10-year-old daughter Everly, are at odds over their financial settlement. They have both put each other on a "preliminary witness list" before going to trial for the revenues from the “Magic Mike” film franchise, which Jenna wants shared evenly.

"The Magic Mike intellectual property and all the proceeds thereon is the elephant in the room," Jenna's lawyer, Samantha Spector, told the judge on April 12, WHO Magazine reported.

"We have, for the last couple of years, been trying to meaningfully resolve this case, but every time we do, we get stuck on that issue with Magic Mike. We are dealing with a potential billion-dollar asset,” she went on.

Jenna alleges the case has been postponed because Channing allegedly refuses "to accept an equal division of the Magic Mike intellectual property.”

"Jenna is just looking for a fair resolution of community assets of the marriage, under California State Law. Jenna wants to reach a final determination and close this chapter on her life as soon as possible,” a rep for Jenna told PEOPLE Magazine.

Channing challenged her allegation, and in documents filed by his counsel, he stated that he has made significant efforts since separation to improve the “Magic Mike” intellectual property and related organizations, which Respondent claims give rise to his independent property interest therein.

Along with his ex-wife, Channing named his business partners and the 2012 film's director, Steven Soderbergh, as witnesses. His lawyers claimed that the actor had explored all options for resolving the dispute without resorting to litigation.

In light of the filing, another insider claimed that, while Jenna, 43, has clearly moved on, she'd prefer to see all doors closed and her divorce finalized. She isn't dragging this out because she wants to or is greedy.

According to a source close to Channing, the 43-year-old actor simply wants to move on and for Jenna to do the same with her new life.

Channing is engaged to Zoë Kravitz, and Jenna is expecting her second child with fiancé Steve Kazee, so both should be eager to reach an arrangement. However, a person close to the 43-year-old actor has a different version of events.

"She says she wants a fair settlement but is ignoring all post-separation work Channing and his partners have done to enhance Magic Mike. She keeps stalling negotiations, but says she wants to resolve this,” the insider said.
