In spite of the fact that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck appear to be intent on sailing right into the rocks, the couple's children are adamant that they will not allow the dissolution of their parents' marriage to disrupt their own lives and rupture their relationships with one another, a new report claimed.

“The kids are old enough to know what’s happening. Obviously, they’re very sad about it. In a perfect world they’d love it if there was a way that Ben and J. Lo could work things out, but they’re all pretty well resigned that’s not happening,” an unnamed source told In Touch Weekly.

Despite the fact that Jennifer, who is 55 years old, and Ben, who is 51 years old, do not have any children together, the Hollywood power couple also took children from their prior relationships into their household, thereby combining their families and creating their own.

Violet, who is 18 years old, Fin, who is 15 years old, and Samuel, who is 12 years old, are all daughters of the actor who won an Academy Award. Although the pair divorced in 2015, they were legally married for a total of thirteen years, beginning in 2005 and ending in 2018.

On the other side, Jennifer is the mother of Emme and Max, who are 16 years old, to whom she gave birth during her previous marriage to Marc Anthony. After a decade of marriage, the couple finally divorced in 2014. The divorce was finalized in 2014.

“What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him. Someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective, and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up,” Jennifer said in an interview with Vogue in November 2022.

The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer and the “Good Will Hunting” actor hitched in July 2022, though they had been spending time together – and with each other’s kids – for a while before that.

Both Jennifer and Ben’s children clearly have a soft spot for their parents and one another, so they’re obviously cut up about the whole situation, but they’re all facing what’s to come with courage and their chins held high.

“To say they’re meddling and trying to get them back together is just not accurate. Most of all they just want them to be happy. What is true is that they’re vowing not to let this affect their bond. They’ve all been in touch throughout this split and Emme and Fin especially are staying super close,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.

Even though they have only been together as a family for a little more than two years, the five children have developed a strong bond with one another and intend to maintain that bond regardless of what occurs in the future.

“They have a great relationship; they’re still hanging out and talking all the time. They’re not going to let this divorce ruin what they have,” the informant stated.

Although it may appear that Ben and Jennifer have a difficult relationship, the couple is still hoping that their children's tight relationship will continue to be solid and even blossom in spite of the possibility that they could divorce in the near future.

“They still consider each other family no matter what, and the good thing is Ben and J. Lo are both totally supportive of that,” the tipster went on.
