The devoted family guy Toby Keith continues to watch over his household, even after he has passed away, a new report claimed.

The court filings that were submitted by Toby's estate indicate the lengths that the country great went to safeguard his family while he was still alive. Now, his wife and three children want to maintain those efforts after his death on February 5, which occurred after he had been battling stomach cancer for two years.

Over the course of his rise to fame, Toby was able to secure a court order that required him to conceal his house address and land deed from the general public. In addition, he utilized identities for himself and his family, and he maintained a security detail that was on duty around the clock.

“This information, if known to the public, would likely increase the threat to the safety and security [of the family],” a new filing to continue the protections stated. Despite the fact that Toby has developed a $500 million empire through his music, record label, chain of restaurants, golf course, and line of tequila, a friend of the family claims that protecting his family has always been his top priority.

“Toby was obsessive about protecting his family — some would say even paranoid. He had a special bond with his fans, but he lived in the real world, knowing there are stalkers and crazies out there who could attack him or his family. He always said they didn’t sign up to be in the spotlight like he did, and he had to make sure they stayed safe,” an unnamed pal told The National Enquirer.

In addition, Toby, who was 62 years old when he passed away, made sure that his wife Tricia, his daughters Shelley, 44, and Krystal, 33, and his son Stelen, 27, will all receive a portion of the wealth that he left behind through his will.

“Toby was a savvy businessman. As his time was drawing near, it gave him great comfort to know that his family will never want for anything — for generations to come!” Toby’s pal went on.
