As part of their never-ending divorce battle, Channing Tatum disclosed that he has incurred "hundreds of thousands" of dollars in legal bills in order to defend himself against his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, a new report claimed.
According to court documents that were obtained by In Touch Weekly, Channing, who is 44 years old, disclosed the shocking information while he was fighting Jenna's attempt to disqualify his legal team. This occurred less than three months before they are scheduled to square off in court.
It has been impossible for Jenna, who is 43 years old, and Channing to come to an agreement over the division of their property. In 2018, the former couple divorced, and shortly thereafter, they reached a custody agreement for their daughter Everly.
A significant problem that still needs to be resolved is the manner in which they will divide the income from the Magic Mike business. Jenna is under the impression that she is entitled to a fifty percent share of Channing's participation in the various firms.
Channing played the role of a male stripper in the film "Magic Mike," which was released in 2012. The movie was a huge success. Channing and his business partners have been successful in obtaining approval for two sequels, launching a live performance in Las Vegas under the name Magic Mike, producing a reality program on HBO centered around the live act, and opening a number of other enterprises under the umbrella of the Magic Mike brand.
Channing is in agreement that Jenna is entitled to a portion of the earnings made by Magic Mike, but they do not agree on the percentage that should be given to her, E! Online reported.
In a recent statement, Jenna made the accusation that Channing had hired a new law firm to join his long-standing law practice in order to represent him in the divorce proceedings. According to her, Channing has raised a concern about the records that she has sought to be turned up, which are relevant to Magic Mike.
As Jenna asserts In order to justify his unwillingness to hand over some records, Channing cited the attorney-client privilege. This was due to the fact that the new legal firm that Channing hired had generated the documents many years earlier.
Jenna contended that this was incomprehensible. Not only that, but she also requested that the newly established law firm be removed from the case.
In light of the fact that the firm had represented firms that she considers to be communal property during the marriage, she stated that it constituted a conflict of circumstances.
Furthermore, Jenna also requested that Channing's long-standing legal company be eliminated from the competition. Jenna's request, according to Channing, is an attempt to draw out the case a little bit further.

“To deprive [Channing] of the counsel of his choice at this late stage in these proceedings, where no unfair disadvantage to [Jenna] can be established, would be devastating to [Channing] and cause him undue hardship without serving the purpose of the disqualification remedy,” Channing’s lawyer argued.
Channing stated Jenna was never represented by the firm in question, despite the fact that she maintains that she was. As far as he was concerned, Jenna had never employed them, she had never conferred with them, and the company had never jointly represented them.
According to the actor, Jenna has never asserted that she had a conversation with any of the attorneys working at the firm in question, nor has she divulged any highly private information to the firm. In his statement, he stated that there is no evidence to suggest that the firm ever provided her with legal advice or that she ever paid any money to the attorneys.
Channing claimed Jenna testified at her deposition that she has no recall of ever speaking to, paying, or obtaining legal assistance from the company. Channing claimed that Jenna's testimony was taken very seriously.
Jenna was not a member of the corporation, and he claimed the firm represented him in a commercial matter. He claimed that the firm represented him. The star of "Blink Twice" stated that it would be "virtually impossible" for another first-chair attorney to adequately grasp the record in this case and appropriately represent him in a trial that is slated to take place in December.
According to him, if his attorneys were disqualified, he would be deprived of the counsel of his choice and an irreparable disadvantage would be placed on his ability to defend himself in court.
“To even attempt such a last-minute transition would also mean an enormous financial burden on [Channing]. [Channing] has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees with [the law firm] over the last six years. It would cost at least that much, if not more, to attempt to bring a new law firm in to try this case on [Channing’s] behalf,” Channing’s lawyer added.
There has not yet been a decision made by a judge up to this writing. In the meantime, Channing has lately brought Steve Kazee, Jenna's fiance, into the legal dispute.
