Ben Affleck has dropped a ton of weight since Jennifer Lopez‘s divorce filing, despite his fast food comfort binges, and it’s got him putting together a plan to bulk up – starting first with his pancake butt!
“Ben’s always had this Achilles heel when it comes to his workouts – he keeps up with his cardio and lifts weights at home to keep his upper body tight, mainly because he’s so afraid of letting his pecs turn saggy and developing man boobs. But squatting and leg work isn’t his deal at all. He hates it. So, the butt’s droopy as a result and Ben’s kind of buried his head in the sand about the problem until now,” an unnamed source told In Touch Weekly.
Nevertheless, an anonymous insider indicated that the 52-year-old actor of "Gone Girl" is currently reconsidering his stance due to the divorce, which has motivated him to significantly improve his physical appearance and achieve the best possible physique, particularly now that he is back in the dating scene.
“So, the trainer’s coming in, the junk’s being phased out, as are the cigarettes, and fixing his rear end is physical priority number one! He may opt for some new tattoos at some point soon, too, but that’s another story,” the undisclosed informant stated.
As they approached their second wedding anniversary in May, it was alleged that Ben and J. Lo, 55, were "on the brink of a divorce." The A-listers proceeded to exit the house without wearing their wedding rings, which served as fuel to the divorce fire throughout the summer.
Notably, Ben refrained from attending his longstanding partner's significant red carpet appearances. Nevertheless, the duo reunited for the sake of their children, as the "On the Floor" performer was present at the high school graduation of Ben's eldest daughter, Violet Affleck, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
The scheduling of their marital difficulties did not correspond with their professional collaborations, such as the film Unstoppable, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6. J.Lo is the protagonist of the film, which is produced by Artists Equity, Ben, and Matt Damon's production company.
“Unstoppable is a tricky one because Ben and Matt are so invested in its success, even if everything you see indicates that Ben and Jennifer are ending their marriage,” another undisclosed informant explained.
“Right now, Ben plans to support the movie, no matter what’s going on with him and Jennifer. They are business people first, and they’re both committed to supporting this film, even if they’re not committed to their marriage,” the tipster went on.
At the time, it was confirmed that Jennifer applied for divorce from Ben on August 20. The actress from Enough designated April 26 as the official date of their separation in the filing. The divorce has not been the subject of public commentary from the couple.
Jennifer made her first red carpet appearance since filing for divorce at the "Unstoppable" premiere at TIFF on September 6. The multi-hyphenate wore a provocative retribution dress that revealed significant skin.
Ben may have declined to attend the premiere; however, Matt was present and engaged in a "profound" conversation with Jennifer. Jennifer and Matt "laughed and spoke more seriously, and for several minutes, they clasped hands as they spoke," according to a mole who spoke with PEOPLE Magazine one day after the event.
