Donald Trump has maintained his assertion that Vice President Kamala Harris falsified her CV by claiming that she worked at McDonald's during the summer.
At a news conference at Trump Tower on Thursday, September 26, the 78-year-old ex-president referred to Harris as a "fraud," OK! Magazine reported.
"Nobody talks about it, but Kamala never had a job at McDonald's. Her resume talks about McDonald's, McDonald's, McDonald's ... She didn't work there. She never worked there at McDonald's. It was a lie," Trump said.
X users couldn't help but find it hilarious that the Republican presidential candidate was concerned about whether or not his political opponent had any experience working in a fast-food restaurant when she was younger for her political career. On social media, the video soon gained widespread attention.
In their review, one critic stated, "He's so mad she worked at McDonald's lmao why is he so obsessed," and another joked, "The most important part of a presidential candidate’s speech is whether or not his opponent worked at McD. Amazing."
Somebody else made a joke and said, "I love that Trump draws the line w/ Harris when it comes to his favorite restaurant (McDonalds). He knows it's true that she worked there but he can't stand his most hated and most loved things coming together against him."
One more X user voiced agreement, "He hates the idea that his favorite fast food place hired her."
The fact that Harris worked at the fast food restaurant during the summers while she was a college student has been widely publicized, The Washington Post reported. At campaign rallies and on his campaign website, Trump has repeatedly brought up the subject since an unconfirmed story spread that McDonald's corporate purportedly claimed they had "no record" of her.
Trump posted the following on Truth Social, as per The Times of India, on Monday, September 23: “Kamala should take down and disavow all of her Statements that she worked for McDonald’s. These Statements go back a long way, and were also used openly throughout the Campaign — UNTIL SHE GOT CAUGHT. She must apologize to the American people for lying!"
His August tweet on the conservative social media site reiterated the rumor.
"TRUTH — WHEN EVEN McDONALD'S WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU, IT'S TIME TO THROW IN THE TOWEL!" he said.
While Trump claims the VP has never worked for McDonald's, USA Today's fact-checking has shown that the fast food chain "has not made any statement about whether Harris worked at the restaurant."
