Mariah Carey is not above mortgaging her flat to obtain some cash despite her over 350 million dollars net worth.

According to a report published not too long ago, the 55-year-old woman is currently in debt to the tune of $18.6 million because she took out loans against her $30 million pad in New York City's upscale Tribeca area. Sources have informed Star Magazine that the singer of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is being forced to reduce the extravagant amount of money she spends, and the diva is not happy about this development.

"Being able to spend money, and even waste money, gives her a lot of happiness," the insider says. "She loves to throw her money around, if she's feeling sad, she goes shopping. If she's happy, she goes shopping."

It is difficult for Mariah, who is well-known for her love of champagne and diamonds, to comprehend why her financial advisors are attempting to stop the spending.

"She just rolls her eyes and accuses them of overreacting," the insider notes.

She may be counting on her residency in Las Vegas beginning in January. Each ticket costs $2,700!

Last year, fans were given a Christmas tour as a gift from the Grammy winner.

Recently, Mariah was shown in a hilarious video uploaded to her verified Instagram account on Wednesday. The video shows her in what looks to be a private plane as the opening notes of her famous song "All I Want for Christmas Is You" begin to play. Soon after, she is greeted by the voice of the "captain," who informs her that they are approaching the North Pole and welcomes her aboard.

“Not yet,” Mariah responds in a sing-song voice. “Sorry!” She then adds, “They always rush me.”

So, if you only want Mariah and her well-known holiday hit for Christmas, you should hold your horses and not get your hopes up yet.

Regarding the holiday season, Mariah frequently celebrates the beginning of the season, the day after Halloween. This time around, she is evidently making fun of the fact that holiday preparations have gotten increasingly early as the years have passed, OK! Magazine reported.

Because of her famous track from 1994 and her subsequent excitement for the holiday season, many people have called her the "Queen of Christmas." She not only accepts this moniker but even attempted to trademark it many years ago without success, NPR reported.
