Before the May 2025 trial, prosecutors expressed their concerns regarding Sean "Diddy" Combs' numerous attempts to be released.
On Wednesday, October 16, they contended that the condemned music producer, who has been accused of rape, human trafficking, and other offenses in numerous lawsuits, should not be permitted to leverage his wealth and influence to obtain exclusive privileges.
"The District Court rightly rejected Combs’s effort to pay his way out of detention, when the record established that no set of conditions could ensure the safety of the community," prosecutors stated in a written statement, The New York Times reported. "Combs’s longstanding and sophisticated methods of obstructing justice and silencing witnesses more than established his dangerousness."
Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team initially requested that their client be released to in-home detention on a $50,000 bond. However, as OK! Magazine previously reported, their requests were rejected on two separate occasions.
A federal human trafficking investigation led to Combs' detention on September 16. He was subsequently charged with extortion conspiracy, s-- trafficking by force, and interstate transportation for prostitution.
Since that time, he has been the subject of a series of lawsuits that allege that he committed heinous acts of physical and sexual abuse over the past 25 years.
Ashley Parham most recently claimed, according to BBC, that the producer threatened to slash her face before sexually assaulting her in 2018 because she proposed that he had "something to do with the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur."
According to Parham, she was at another man's house when Combs and a group of people, including chief of staff Kristina Khorram, allegedly barged in. The plaintiff asserted that Combs had threatened her with a knife and that Khorram had informed her that they could send her anyplace in the globe "so would never see her family again," as stated in the lawsuit, The National Enquirer reported.
Later, it is purported that Combs "violently raped her with a remote control."
On Instagram earlier this week, while imprisoned, Combs wished his 2-year-old daughter Love—with whom he shares a mother, Dana Tran—a "happy birthday."
"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, baby Love! Happy Birthday to you!! Happy Birthday @loveseancombs daddy loves you," he wrote on October 15, featuring a carousel of photographs of him with the young child.
The artist, who is currently facing controversy, is the father of three sons: Quincy Brown, 33, Justin Combs, 30, and Christian "King" Combs, 26, as well as two daughters, Chance Combs, 18, and the 17-year-old twins, Jessie and D'Lila Combs.
