In the nick of time, Keith Urban made a hasty trip across the Pacific Ocean to be with his devastated wife, Nicole Kidman, as she said her final goodbyes to her mother, Janelle.
The flight from Los Angeles to Sydney took place on October 15 at eight a.m. Keith, who will turn 57 this week, arrived in Sydney. Using sunglasses and a cap to protect his face, the musician entered the terminal and into his vehicle as swiftly as possible. He was probably counting down the minutes before he was reunited with his wife, Nicole, 57, and his two children, Sunday, 16, and Faith, 13.
The burial service for Janelle was held at St. Francis Xavier Church later that afternoon, and the Kidman-Urban family, along with Nicole's sister Antonia, more members of her family, and other loved ones, were there, New Idea Magazine reported.
During their departure from the emotionally charged service, Keith enthusiastically clung to Nicole's hand. As they made their way to a car that was waiting for them, the two individuals appeared solemn. They were both dressed in black and wore dark glasses.
The pair's reunification could not have come at a more opportune moment. Because of their respective work obligations, they have been primarily separated ever since Janelle passed away on September 7 at the age of 83.
Nicole appeared in the Balenciaga Paris Fashion Week event, which took place at the end of that month. In addition to her, Sunday also participated, as did her daughter, who first appeared on the runway in the Miu Miu show.
In New York, Nicole made her way a few days later when she attended a screening and question-and-answer session for her newest movie, "Babygirl," which took place on October 5.
While all this was going on, Keith began the first leg of his High in Vegas residency on October 4 at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. According to sources, his High and Live World Tour was scheduled to continue on October 18 in Sacramento, California.
Just a few days before the funeral, there was a "silly situation," and New Idea was told that Nicole was very thankful that Keith was there to support her during the funeral.
The video of Nicole and Salma Hayek having an awkward encounter at the Balenciaga show became popular on the internet several weeks after the event, PageSix reported. As a result, Nicole felt compelled to refute the notion that she was involved in a rivalry with Salma Hayek.
Nicole and Salma, both 58 years old, are shown in the video posing for photographs with singer Katy Perry. Salma appears to make an effort to physically turn Nicole around to take additional photographs, much to the displeasure of the Australian celebrity. After removing Salma's hand from her arm, Nicole gives Katy a farewell kiss and then walks away, giving the impression that she is exchanging some tense words with her.
Because Janelle's passing was relatively recent, people on social media pondered whether Nicole's grief might have influenced her behavior.
A source promptly informed PEOPLE Magazine that there was no tension and that "this whole situation is silly." Nicole and Salma have a mutual affection and respect for one another.
"They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation. People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing," the informant claimed.
