Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing a new wave of sexual assault allegations, including a disturbing claim that he drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl at a VMAs afterparty two decades ago, with two other celebrities allegedly present. The latest accusations are part of a series of lawsuits filed in the Southern District of New York on Sunday, as the fallen music mogul confronts mounting legal challenges involving multiple victims, some of whom were minors at the time of the alleged assaults.
The lawsuit, filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, represents Jane Doe, who was 13 years old at the time of the alleged assault. The plaintiff claims she attended the VMAs afterparty and began feeling "woozy and lightheaded" after having a single drink. In her disoriented state, she sought a quiet place to rest, entering a bedroom where she believed she could be alone. Instead, she alleges that Sean Combs, along with an unnamed male and female celebrity, entered the room shortly thereafter.
According to the court filing, Combs approached the teenager with a "crazed look in his eyes," before declaring, "You are ready to party!" Jane Doe alleges she was then pinned down and raped by Combs and the male celebrity while the female celebrity watched. The filing further claims that Combs attempted to force her to perform oral sex but ceased when she resisted by striking him in the neck. Following the attack, Jane Doe escaped from the room and managed to contact her father, who came to take her home.
The victim, now 37 years old, alleges that the traumatic experience left her in a deep depression, impacting every facet of her life. Buzbee, who has filed multiple suits on behalf of other alleged victims, emphasized the severity of the allegations, which involve instances from 2000 to as recently as two years ago. "The egregious conduct set out in the lawsuits occurred in New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas," Buzbee stated, adding that more lawsuits could be expected in the coming days.
These latest filings are part of a broader campaign of legal actions against Combs. Within the past week, Buzbee has filed 12 lawsuits involving accusations of sexual assault, false imprisonment, and battery. The plaintiffs include both men and women who allege they were drugged and sexually abused during high-profile events hosted by Combs. The lawsuits claim that victims were required to sign non-disclosure agreements before entering the events, effectively silencing them until now.
One particularly chilling detail that appears across multiple lawsuits is the use of spiked drinks to incapacitate victims. Buzbee revealed that Combs and members of his entourage allegedly used substances such as GHB, a drug known to induce drowsiness and impair memory, to facilitate the assaults. The use of GHB, often referred to as a "date rape drug," has been a recurring element in the accusations against Combs, who has been known for hosting notorious parties, including his infamous "white parties" attended by numerous celebrities.
Combs, who remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, is also facing federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges. His trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025, and he continues to fight the denial of his bail. His legal team, led by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, has repeatedly sought to have Combs released on bail, arguing that he deserves a fair chance to prepare his defense. Thus far, all requests have been denied by the court.
In response to the flood of civil suits, Combs' lawyers have categorically denied the allegations, calling them "false and defamatory." Attorney Erica Wolff stated, "Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors." The defense has also requested a gag order to limit public statements by prospective witnesses, arguing that the media attention could jeopardize Combs' right to a fair trial.
Buzbee, however, remains undeterred, highlighting the strength of the evidence his team has gathered. He mentioned that many of the victims had previously cooperated with law enforcement, providing statements and medical records to substantiate their claims. "If you're out there, and you have been victimized, you are not alone. There is a great strength in numbers," Buzbee said, encouraging others to come forward. He also noted that the alleged assaults occurred not only at Combs' private gatherings but also at more public venues, suggesting a pattern of predatory behavior.
As the lawsuits continue to pile up, the future looks increasingly bleak for Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who once played a key role in shaping the careers of some of the biggest names in music, including Notorious B.I.G. and Machine Gun Kelly. His public image, once that of a successful music mogul, has been severely tarnished as these allegations surface, portraying a culture of abuse and coercion surrounding his events.
