Donald Trump was rumored to have impersonated his wife during the 2024 presidential election by using a body double of Melania Trump.
On Tuesday, November 5, Trump's wife, 54, who married the controversial businessman, 78, in 2005, was observed standing by his side as he spoke with reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, OK! Magazine reported.
She concealed her eyes by wearing huge sunglasses with dark lenses and a black and white shirt with a polka-dot pattern.
When the videos became popular on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, some individuals were skeptical and suggested that the woman sitting next to him did not look at all like Melania. They referred to her as "fauxlania" and "Temu Melania."
An individual wrote, "Yo, am I crazy, or is that a fake Melania standing next to him?" and additionally, another individual stated, "Look, I’ve never been a Melania truther, but this just… isn’t her."
A third individual stated, "I thought the same thing. That is why she is wearing sunglasses inside," and a fourth individual made a jest, "Trump's so broke all he can afford to hire are Melania lookalikes!"
Another critic gave a firm opinion, "Her cheekbones and smile are not Melania's. End of story."
Melania has been mostly absent from the campaign route and has made only a few other public appearances with her husband. She was present at the Republican National Convention but declined to address the audience. After the initial assassination attempt on Trump's life in July, she issued a statement in which she expressed her support for her husband.
In September, she appeared on Fox News to promote the publication of her book. However, the New York Times reported that Sunday's rally was her inaugural appearance at a Trump event this election cycle.
Elon Musk, a billionaire ally of Trump, introduced Melania Trump at her husband's campaign rally at Madison Square Garden. Before delivering a message of optimism, Melania vaguely referenced the "economic instability" and "declining quality of life" in the United States, as per Forbes.
The former FLOTUS stated that the magic of New York City and America must be rekindled, adding that Americans should commence our collaboration with a shared vision rooted in the United States' grandeur and seize this opportunity to establish a nation that is fit for the future, the future that we deserve.
Nevertheless, the mother-of-one, who shares 18-year-old son Barron with the former president, stated in a recent interview on Hannity that she has endeavored to "enjoy" the "long process" of the election cycle over the past two years.
"[You] also need to be very focused and take it day by day," she disclosed to Sean Hannity at the time. "Some surprises come as well, so it is very important that you prepare for those surprises."
Melania also stated that individuals with "different perspectives" and beliefs must learn to "respect" each other's freedom of speech and "individuality" more after discussing the dangers of this specific campaign and referencing the two attempts on her husband's life.
"I think it's very important that ideas are heard that we have very, very straightforward communications, and we share the idea with debate," she shared. "Because I think with that, we could have innovation and success in this country. I feel it's a troubling trade in this country that we are canceling people that don't agree on certain issues."
