Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle's disheartened half-sister, expressed astonishment at the former actress's prior "mockery" of the Royal family.
Samantha, 60, has become alienated from her paternal half-sibling, asserting that Meghan's connection with Harry has strained familial relations, especially those with Samantha's mother, Roslyn, as per The Mirror.
Roslyn died in early October. Speaking publicly for the first time since her loss, Samantha fought back the tears.
"Meghan has no idea what she is missing out on because when my dad (Thomas) goes, it will be too late. Believe me, I know. You can't get back that time. It leaves a hole in your heart," she stated.
"I don't know the Royal family. I'm just a human, watching from across the pond, but I couldn't believe it... My dad doesn't want Meghan to pay him back. But you want love from them because there is a pain in your heart if it isn't there. I didn't want my mom to die feeling she was alone, and not loved. I almost left it too late. They could both learn from me," Samantha added.
Upon Meghan's engagement to Prince Harry, global attention shifted to the Markle family's problems. The family has allegedly become estranged, and Samantha now thinks that Thomas, 80, has limited time remaining following two heart attacks and a stroke in recent years.
In recent years, Samantha has articulated her distress with Meghan's implication that Prince Harry's family was the significant family she "never had." In 2020, the Duchess of Sussex renounced her royal status and departed the U.K. for the U.S. with Prince Harry two years after their marriage.
Meghan has conducted vitriolic interviews regarding The Firm and imitated curtseying before the Queen during the couple's 2022 Netflix documentary.
"I never thought I would see Meghan do what she has done to the Royal Family. She's done what she did to her own family to so many other people, too. I knew my dad had suffered, but I thought she would stop at the Queen," Samantha shared.
Samantha stated in an interview with The Daily Mail last night that Prince Harry "permitted" his wife to "ridicule" the deceased king through the deed.
However, Meghan was allegedly close to Samantha during her upbringing. She was born two years after Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, 68, married Thomas. Despite her pessimism, Samantha fervently desires Meghan, the former actress, to communicate with their father.
Samantha voiced doubt about taking an olive branch, pointing out it might feel like an invitation to be wounded once more. She said it would be challenging to believe the gesture was given for the proper motives. When Samantha reflected on the matter, she said that the several lost chances for love and the possibility of creating a natural family bond most disappointed her.
Samantha's most recent comments sparked more internet debate. Reactions on X, which used to be Twitter, split.
"Samantha Markle’s statements are heartbreaking. Families should reconcile while there’s still time," an X user said. "More unfounded attacks on Meghan—this is getting old. Let her live her life!" another netizen stated.
"No one wins when family feuds go public. This is a sad situation all around," a third source shared. "How much is Samantha gaining from these interviews? Feels exploitative at this point," a Meghan fan commented.
"Meghan’s actions have consequences. Ignoring family isn’t justifiable," a fifth netizen responded. "Time to stop blaming Meghan for everything and focus on healing," another netizen added.
