An offer from the royal family is anticipated to be declined by Prince Harry on his forthcoming trip to the United Kingdom, which is scheduled to take place the following month. Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams views this action as a form of "protest."
Following the conclusion of his ongoing legal struggle against News Group Newspapers (NGN), Prince Harry intends to fly to London by himself in order to attend a hearing at the High Court over the matter. In the same manner as she has done on prior travels, his wife, Meghan Markle, will continue to stay at their house in Montecito, California, with their two children.
As a result of the tense connection that Prince Harry has with the royal family, it is still unclear whether he will get the opportunity to see any of them during his trip to London. It has been stated that Prince William has broken his relationship with his younger brother, while King Charles was apparently "too busy" to meet with Prince Harry during his most recent visit in May of 2024.
It was predicted by Fitzwilliams, according to Geo, that Prince Harry would respond negatively to an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace because he would see it as a form of protest against the royal family.
He said on GB News, "We do know that Buckingham Palace was offered for the last visit and rejected in favor of a hotel. Now, that's never been explained. I don't understand. It's obviously part of a protest."
Additionally, he brought up Prince Harry's ongoing appeal against the decision made by the Home Office to not automatically grant him security, and he questioned the reason why he would choose to stay in a hotel rather than in the palace.
As a result of a number of charges that have been made against the monarchy, Prince Harry and Meghan have been increasingly distant from the royal family ever since they resigned from their positions as working royals five years ago.
It has been especially painful for King Charles, who is reportedly upset about the small amount of time he has spent with Prince Harry and Meghan's children. Only once since Princess Lilibet's birth has the King had the opportunity to meet his granddaughter, but he has been able to observe his grandchildren's development via the use of rare images that have been shared on social media.
Royal expert Jennie Bond spoke to Mirror, saying, "It must remain a great sadness to the King to be so distant from his two US-based grandchildren. He hardly knows them, and there's no prospect of that changing any time soon."
She placed a strong emphasis on the significance of the early childhood years, pointing out that once they have passed, they cannot be taken back. Bond added, "I hope the King doesn't dwell on his loss too much, but it must hurt."
Over the past few years, Prince Harry has only made a handful of journeys back to the United Kingdom, during which he has attended high-profile occasions such as the funerals of Prince Philip and the late Queen.
As a result of his decision to step down from royal duties, he has lost the security that was financed by taxpayers. As a result, he is unwilling to bring his family to the United Kingdom, expressing fears about their safety.
