George Clooney's recent claim that he and wife Amal Clooney have "never had an argument" is drawing scrutiny, as fans and a deception detection expert express doubts about the actor's unusually harmonious portrayal of their ten-year marriage.

Speaking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Clooney said, "Amal and I are having a really great time in life," and reiterated a previous assertion: "We said we'd never had an argument." He added, "We still haven't," joking, "No, we're trying to find something to fight about."

While some fans celebrated the remarks, others responded with skepticism. "I literally argue with my cat," wrote one Reddit user. Another commented, "His wife is one of the most prominent attorneys in the world. Avoiding arguments with her is smart." On Instagram, however, reactions were more optimistic, with one user writing, "Love this for them! Happiness is contagious."

Susan Constantine, a body language expert and coauthor of the forthcoming book How to Spot a Liar in Seven Seconds, questioned Clooney's statements, pointing to behavioral indicators during the interview that suggest discomfort and possible evasion, as reported by RadarOnline.

"There is a distinct shift in his body language when he talks about his wife. It's obvious it's something very sensitive to him because he does a lot of deflecting," Constantine said. She noted Clooney's rapid eye blinking, rubbing his thumbs together, and stretching out his legs when discussing Amal as signs of anxiety or potential dishonesty.

"He leaked out the three indicators of deception like bam, bam, bam, and that tells me there is something he's not telling us. I think he's not being completely forthright," Constantine added. "In short, his body language is betraying him."

The timing of the interview coincides with Clooney's Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, a project he reportedly views as a passion pursuit. Amal, 47, was absent from the opening night, which some sources have suggested led to tension. RadarOnline.com reported that Amal was upset about the time commitment, which drew Clooney away from her and their 7-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.

Clooney, 64, once vowed never to marry or have children, but has since publicly praised his life with Amal. "I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman, and I feel as if I hit the jackpot," he said in the CBS interview, describing himself as "the luckiest man in the world."
