Amber Heard marked Mother's Day with a surprise announcement that she has welcomed twin babies-a son named Ocean and a daughter named Agnes-bringing her total number of children to three. The 39-year-old actress shared the news on Instagram Sunday alongside a photo of the infants' feet and a message describing the moment as the "completion of the family I've strived to build for years."

"Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life," Heard wrote. "I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully."

Heard's first child, Oonagh Paige, was born in April 2021. At the time, she said she had made the decision to become a mother four years earlier and wanted to do so independently. "I wanted to do it on my own terms," she wrote in a 2021 post. "I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way."

The actress, who relocated to Madrid following her high-profile legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp, described the addition of the twins as a moment of profound joy. "When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever," she wrote. "I thought I couldn't possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!!"

In her post, Heard addressed other mothers as well. "To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you," she said. "Love always, A x."

Heard has largely remained out of the public eye since her legal showdown with Depp concluded in 2022. Depp sued her for defamation over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she described herself as a survivor of domestic abuse without naming him. A Virginia jury awarded Depp $10 million in damages, while Heard was awarded $2 million in a partial countersuit. The pair later settled.

In a 2022 interview with NBC's Savannah Guthrie, Heard described her life post-trial. "I get to be a mom," she said. "Full time, you know? Where I'm not having to juggle calls with lawyers."

While Heard has expressed her desire to maintain privacy around her family, she has also acknowledged the pressures of public life. "A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone's business," she wrote in 2021. "I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this."
