Netflix's One Piece live-action adaptation is charting a new course in 2026 with a second season that expands the Straw Hat crew's voyage into the Grand Line. Following the record-breaking success of its debut season, the streaming giant is betting big on one of its most ambitious anime-to-live-action projects to date.

According to Netflix, production is underway for eight new episodes that will adapt some of the manga's most beloved arcs, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, and Drum Island. Iñaki Godoy will reprise his role as Monkey D. Luffy, joined once again by Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

The second season will introduce one of the franchise's most anticipated characters - the blue-nosed reindeer doctor, Tony Tony Chopper. His debut marks a turning point in the series, as the Straw Hats face new dangers and emotional depth amid their adventures across uncharted seas. Episode titles such as "Nami Deerest," "Reindeer Shames," and "Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom" all but confirm Chopper's arrival.

Insiders familiar with production told People that the new episodes will take the Straw Hats through a series of escalating trials. The first, "The Beginning of the End," will revisit Loguetown, the place where the Pirate King Gold Roger was executed-a symbolic moment that connects Luffy's dream to the origins of piracy itself.

From there, the crew will face the perilous climb of Reverse Mountain, a massive ocean gateway with upward-flowing currents. The episode "Good Whale Hunting" teases the appearance of Laboon, the enormous whale who waits at the mountain's base, and his caretaker, Crocus. The setting signals a faithful adaptation of the manga's early Grand Line chapters.

The next arc, set on Cactus Island, carries the episode title "Whiskey Business," a nod to the island's deceptive welcome for pirates. The Straw Hats' encounter with Baroque Works, a shadowy criminal organization, will deepen the show's narrative tension. Baroque Works' agents, including Mr. 3, are central to later arcs that push the crew's moral and physical endurance.

Little Garden will serve as the backdrop for "Big Trouble in Little Garden," an episode featuring dueling giants Dorry and Brogy and prehistoric beasts. Netflix insiders hinted that visual effects teams are working to blend practical sets with CGI to capture the island's dinosaur-filled wilderness.

Production leaks suggest the final stretch will adapt the Drum Island storyline, where the Straw Hats confront tyrant King Wapol and search for a cure for Nami's illness. The episode "Wax On, Wax Off" references Mr. 3's signature wax powers - and possibly a Karate Kid homage. Fans speculate the title may also hint at the introduction of Portgas D. Ace, Luffy's brother, with rumors of a Cobra Kai actor in talks for the role.

Although Netflix hasn't announced an exact premiere date, sources close to the production indicate a likely spring 2026 debut. Season 2 will stream exclusively on Netflix, which remains the home of the complete first season.
