Rapper Offset was hospitalized after being shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Monday evening, in an incident that authorities say remains under active investigation with two individuals detained.
The shooting occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. near the casino's valet area in Hollywood, according to law enforcement accounts. A representative for the artist, whose legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, confirmed he is in stable condition and receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.
"We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care," a spokesperson told Complex. "He is stable and being closely monitored."
Police have provided limited details about the circumstances leading to the gunfire. In a statement cited by Page Six, a spokesperson said officers responded to an incident "that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual," adding that the scene was secured quickly and did not pose broader risk to the public.
Witness accounts and images circulating online suggest the violence unfolded abruptly. Individuals inside the casino lobby shortly before the shooting described Offset as relaxed and approachable, engaging with fans and speaking on his phone without visible signs of concern.
According to an eyewitness quoted by the Associated Press, the shift from routine interactions to gunfire occurred within seconds. Images obtained by TMZ appear to corroborate those descriptions, showing the artist smiling and posing for photos shortly before exiting the building.
The lack of an apparent altercation prior to the incident has intensified questions about motive. Authorities have not indicated whether the shooting was targeted or random, and no formal charges have been announced against the individuals in custody.
The episode adds to a broader pattern of violence that has intersected with Offset's career and personal life. In 2022, his longtime collaborator and fellow Migos member Takeoff was killed in a shooting in Houston, an event that reshaped the group's future and marked a turning point for the Atlanta-based artist.
Offset has previously described the emotional toll of that loss. In an interview with Variety, he said, "Talking about all this s*** is hard. That's why I don't, to be honest," adding, "That s*** hurts. Like, it's gonna put me in a mood, and I don't want to get in that mood."
He continued, "[Takeoff is] not here. That s*** feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it's fake. And I don't say nothing to nobody about it."
Beyond his music career, Offset's personal life has remained under public scrutiny, including his high-profile relationship with Cardi B, with whom he shares three children. The couple separated in 2023, adding another layer of visibility to his public profile.
