Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein are leaning into mounting speculation surrounding their off-screen relationship as the pair promote their upcoming romantic comedy Office Romance, due for release on June 5.

The actors addressed their connection publicly for the first time in a joint interview published May 13, speaking openly about the "great chemistry" they developed while filming the movie. The comments immediately intensified online rumors that the relationship between Lopez and Goldstein may extend beyond the set, particularly following Lopez's highly scrutinized split from Ben Affleck.

Neither star confirmed any romantic involvement. Still, both appeared notably comfortable discussing the personal rapport that developed during production.

"We had great chemistry to begin with," Lopez told People, adding that the dynamic between them strengthened throughout filming.

For Hollywood observers, the timing matters almost as much as the quote itself.

Lopez, long regarded as one of the defining romantic-comedy stars of the last three decades, enters the film during another period of intense tabloid focus around her personal life. Goldstein, meanwhile, has emerged as one of television's most recognizable breakout stars following his Emmy-winning performance as Roy Kent on Ted Lasso.

Lopez admitted she initially expected Goldstein to resemble the blunt, aggressive footballer he portrays on screen.

"I expected more of a rough guy," she said. Instead, Lopez described discovering "this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming," adding that the difference between Goldstein and his character "was a surprise."

The actress, 56, also called herself "a huge fan" of Ted Lasso and said Roy Kent was "one of my favourite characters."

Goldstein, 45, appeared equally enthusiastic in discussing Lopez.

The actor revealed he co-wrote Office Romance alongside Joe Kelly with Lopez specifically in mind for the lead role.

"We started asking ourselves who the best romcom star is, and without hesitation, we both said J.Lo," Goldstein told People. "She's the best at this stuff. We just wanted to write something funny and smart enough to be worthy of her saying yes."

The unusually warm exchange has become central to the film's early publicity cycle.

Hollywood promotional campaigns frequently emphasize chemistry between co-stars, but entertainment outlets and social-media users have seized on the consistency of the pair's language and body language during interviews. Online speculation accelerated further after reports from OK! cited an unnamed insider describing "an undeniable chemistry between Jen and Brett on set, and it naturally spilled over off camera."

The same source claimed Lopez, following her breakup with Affleck, found the relationship "a welcome sense of lightness and escape."

"Jen has a great deal of affection for Brett and genuinely rates him as a person, she finds him warm, grounded and incredibly talented, and she's always felt comfortable in his company," the insider reportedly said.

At the same time, the report suggested Lopez did not necessarily view Goldstein as a long-term partner, saying he "doesn't quite meet all of those" requirements when considering "the bigger picture."

Neither Lopez nor Goldstein has commented publicly on those claims.
