China's most popular messaging app may see some setback in the near future as it has a new challenger to face now. A messaging tool named Zidan Duanxin, dubbed in English as Bullet App has thrashed all other app's track record and took over the first place as the most downloaded app in Apple app store in just days of its official launch.

According to Tech in Asia, Zidan, which was inaugurated by tech startup Kuairu has clinched the victory of being the most downloaded app in the Apple app store in China. The app which has been backed up with Chinese smartphone manufacturer Smartisan is expected to give a tough competition to Tencent owned WeChat.

The later is considered to be a lifeline for China. WeChat is widely used in different spheres of life in the country. Be it from paying utility bills, transacting money to booking cabs, keeping up with official activities. But the new Zidan tool, which has been popularized as Bullet Message, is stealing the show with its next-gen features, which are lacked by WeChat.

Quartz noted that WeChat is majorly used by Chinese people for sending voice messages, despite its text messages feature. Its "push to talk' attribute is used as the key solution for voice messaging. But in noisy areas where recording a clear voice seems impossible, it becomes difficult for the users to send or hear their voice messages. As a rare and effective solution to such issues, Zidan offers spectacular artificial intelligence-led transcriptions, by which a user can record his voice and make an accurate transcribed robotic version of the message and thereby send his desired recipient.

In this manner, one can convey his message correctly to his listener(s) without any eerie or disturbing distractions. Also, Bullet Message offers proper navigation facilities. This feature allows a user to send a single voice recorded messages to multiple persons, at the same time. There are few more features expected to be upgraded soon.

In addition, Smartisan founder Luo Yonghao said that the app makers have recently closed a deal of US$22 million as its first funding. He also stated that Bullet Message is also proceeding towards moving a step ahead to join hands with Alibaba for enabling its digital payment handle Alipay, in the app.
However, Luo concluded that Bullet Message (Zidan) "is not intending to challenge WeChat." "It's unrealistic to uninstall WeChat," as in his words Zidan's aim is to "care about efficient communication," and not to compete with its rivals.
