Microsoft is keeping up with its video calling app, Skype to kill its rivals: Google Duo and Apple Facetime. As per its earlier promise, the company managed to launch its much-awaited call recording feature just now. The feature will be available for all platforms now, except Windows 10. Microsoft's latest OS users may have to wait for sometime to see the feature in their devices as Microsoft stated to bring it to the platform "in the coming months."

According to Gadget360, the company announced the call recording feature on Skype through the 'Content Creator' mode. The company's Skype developing wing stated in a blog post: "Today, we're introducing call recording to help capture special moments in a Skype call with your loved ones or record important meetings with your colleagues." The feature has already been activated in operation.

However, Engadget quoted that Microsoft is currently allowing users to record calls and keep the contents in a cloud-based storage on skype for a time period of 30 days. During this timeline, users will be able to see and share the recordings with any of his contacts or, to anyone of their requirement.

Moreover, Microsoft has kept a special attention over the content sharing policies of various regions. The Redmond based tech giants seem not to fall into any legal turmoil in regions where video recording demands mutual consents. Thus, the skype team of the company has added the feature in such a manner, that everyone involved in a Skype call will know it if any one of the participants starts recording the call.

If a person starts recording a call, Skype will encourage him to let know others on the call that he is recording the conversation. Also, others will possibly get a notification on their skype as soon as one starts recording the call. Potential sources suggested that to save the recorded Skype calls, a user will require to press the three-dotted 'More options' button from his existing chat and thereby select 'Save to Downloads' option.

If anyone desires to save a recorded call on his PC then he can also do that, by selecting the 'Save as' option on his computer and then navigate the folder where he wishes to save the recording specifically. Skype users one mobile can also save it as well on their handsets They will just require to tap and long press the recorded call option in the chat and then click on 'Save' option in the pop-up menu, which will appear before them.
