OnePlus released the first instance of OxygenOS Open Beta on September 3rd. Just after a week, the company announced another second OxygenOS Open Beta based on Android Pie for its  OnePlus 6, which brought several improvements to the multitasking UI introduced with the first OxygenOS Open Beta, alongside other developments on the user interface as well. The new update is limited to OnePlus 6 for now and is available as an OTA update.

According to Indian Express, OxygenOS Open Beta 2 has now been listed on the OnePlus official forum with its official list changelogs. The improvements reportedly included an upgrade on its WiFi stability, improvements for less background power consumption and optimization of quality and color for the images clicked by the front camera. The official listing also briefed that the users who have already installed the Oxygen Open Beta 1 on their OnePlus 6 handsets will be able to take the advantages of the newest second version of OxygenOS Open Beta.

FirstPost noted that the members of OnePlus' ongoing Open Beta Program will receive OxygenOS Open Beta update as an OTA. OnePlus also released a number of performance-based improvements and bug fixes alongside this update. For instance, developments for the pocket mode to reduce accidental touches have also been included in OxygenOS Open Beta 2. An improved UI system for the generation of verification codes like unique OTP and others have been added to this latest update, which will help the users to find what they require at any point of time on their OnePlus 6.

A group of techies from XDA Developers reported that OxygenOS Open Beta 2 has also resolved the touch sensitivity & latency issue alongside the scrolling problem which appeared with the first edition of this OTA update, a week before. These issues were reported by the users after the release o OxygenOS Open Beta 1. However, several errors are still left to be taken care of by OnePlus, which were reportedly initiated in the first OTA. These include the improper functionality of third-party apps, Google Pay service, and certain other apps as well.

OnePlus is expected to resolve these shortcomings soon by submitting the beta ROM's build fingerprint to Google. Only then users will get the proper access to Google Pay for making their required transactions. In the mid of this, smartphone users have also started buzzing around a possible render of OnePlus 6T. However, it is still left to be announced by OnePlus.
