"Call of Duty: Blackout" has a new update introducing a new enemy that offers big rewards when killed.

Call of Duty's battle royale mode Blackout has received a lot of praises for being such a great game -- and it's still on beta at the moment. Now, Treyarch has added more excitement to the already exciting shooting game: an enemy called the "Blightfather."

The Blightfather, a huge, disgusting zombie taken from the upcoming zombie's experience, "IX" and inserted into Blackout in an event that lasts until the beta closes, ComicBook reported. This monster makes its cameo in the game even before the zombie map is released.

In a Reddit post, Treyarch announced that players who can eliminate the Blightfather will receive great rewards. Eliminating it will prove to be a challenge, though. According to players who took on the beast, it's a "bullet sponge" that can take on many hits before actually dying and giving the goodies up.

The Blightfather can be found in the graveyard near the asylum. It takes the place of a mystery box that sometimes spawns in the graveyard. Once a red beam shoots up from the ground, players can be certain that it's there, waiting.

This ugly monster is strong and can attack players up close and far away. It swipes those who are near, shoots a homing projectile from its mouth to attack those who are far away. Thankfully, the graveyard is filled with crypts, tombstones and trees players can use to evade these homing attacks and hide.

In addition, the Blightfather also digs underground then jumps up at a different location, surprising players. Those who want to kill it should stay sharp and keep moving in order to stay alive.

Aside from these, players who wish to kill the Blightfather will also have to face the added challenge of having to survive other players who also want to kill the beast. This is a battle royale game joined by 88 players, so players will have to keep in mind that there's more to killing the beast than the beast itself.

The Blightfather drops a decent gear when killed. It drops things like level 3 armor, weapons like sniper rifles and a ray gun, and very helpful things like trauma kits and ammunition. Those who want to get good gear can hope in the possibility of getting beefed up by killing this monster.

Call of Duty: Blackout remains one of the most interesting and exciting battle royale games to date, and is expected to compete well with older titles such as "Fortnite" and "PUBG."
