Just recently, fans were treated to the news that Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones could come in three flavors: black, white, and a new mint color. Now, it seems that there's another color that just might appeal to more people: Pink.

Recently, it was reported that Google set up a promo page, a teaser website for the Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The teaser website didn't have any detail on it, save for two words saying "Coming Soon," something that appears to be the Pixel 3's silhouette, and a background that changes its color once users click on the Google logo found on the "smartphone" silhouette.

The said website still only displays the aforementioned three different color schemes as of writing time. The source code for the website, however, tells a different story. In a tweet, Cas van Dinter, a guy who looked into the website's source code, says there's also a fourth color: pink.

In a quick analysis, 9to5Google pointed out that something's wrong with how the pink theme looks. While the background does change to pink, accented by a coral-colored "Coming Soon," the phone's outline stays the same, accented with green.

This could mean a lot of things. It could mean Google really intended the website to show a pink-colored background. If they did, then this would surely mean they made a mistake, and that there's a fourth variant for the upcoming flagship phones.

This could mean there's something missing in the javascript, or Google might have made mistakes in proofing the code. There could be other reasons.

If Google, however, simply added "pink" to the source code as a means to mislead people into thinking there's another variant, then it's a joke well played.

Nevertheless, releasing the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in a fourth pink color won't be bad. In fact, it might add to Google's sales numbers. After all, "colorful" is the trend for flagships right now: Apple is selling iPhone XRs in six colors including Coral and Yellow; while Samsung is selling Galaxy S9s in gold, red, black, blue and purple; and Note 9s in copper, purple, black and blue.

What's fun to think about, however, is the possibility that Google would be releasing flagships in a brand new color. Rumors suggested that Google was considering a red or "coral" Pixel 3, but until now this remains a rumor.

The "pink" color discovered could actually mean Google will release a "coral" variant, but until the device is officially unveiled, it's only a matter of speculation.
