GoPro has recently unveiled the new HERO7 line of action cameras. These cameras, coming in three different colors, are all set to give users the best action camera experience yet.
According to a press release, the Hero 7 lineup comes in black, silver, and white-colored cameras. Their differences are not limited to their color scheme; each color has different capabilities and, of course, a different price tag.
GoPro has decided to focus on the basics with the Hero 7, Engadget noted. The result is a fairly easy-to-use lineup that can take better shots than their predecessors and their competition.
All three are compatible with the Hero 5 and 6's mounts and accessories, are also waterproof to a depth, and have other features that the Hero 5 and 6 has, The Verge noted. Some outer features might look similar, but these are totally different cameras.
The $399 Hero 7 Black, for example, might come with a GP1 processor that first debuted in the Hero 6 Black, but this time GoPro says it has a lot more RAM that allows for a better digital video stabilization feature called "HyperSmooth."
With HyperSmooth, the Hero 7 Black is able to take shots so stable they'd look like they were shot with the help of a gimbal -- but they're not. The Verge's Sean O'Kane uploaded a video taken using a Hero 7 Black, and it does look like it's shot using a gimbal.
HyperSmooth aside, the Hero 7 Black is able to record 4K videos at up to 60 frames per second, 2.7K videos at up to 120 fps, and 1080p videos at up to 240 fps. It can also take 12MP photos at up to 30 fps.
The Hero 7 Silver and White aren't as powerful as the Hero 7 Black, but they aren't as expensive either. Selling for $299 and $199 respectively, they offer decent features for those who can afford them.
The Hero 7 Silver can shoot 4K videos at up to 30 fps, 1440p videos at up to 60 fps, and 1080p videos up to 60 fps. It can then capture 10MP photos at up to 15 fps. The Hero 7 White, on the other hand, can capture Full HD 1080p videos at up to 60 fps, and take 10MP photos at up to 15 fps. Both feature video stabilization, though not as good as the Hero 7 Black's.
Aside from these aforementioned specs, these three cameras also have a host of other features. They now allow vertical photos and videos, feature voice control, and time-lapse captures.
Interested parties can now pre-order the Hero 7 lineup. They will go on sale starting September 27th.
