The US starts its battle against Europe in 42nd edition of the Ryder Friday and Tiger Woods will be in the anchor position.

According to USA Today, the event will be held at the Le Golf National and since 2012; Woods will play in the biennial competition for the first time. He will be paired with Patrick Reed, who is also known as Captain America. They are the last match in the first four balls and the session starts at 8:55 am or 2:55 ET.

The above-mentioned source revealed that Reed and Wood will be facing the British Open champion Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari, who are making their Ryder Cup Debut. Fleetwood and Molinari won 17-11 at the Hazeltine Minnesota 2016, bringing pride to the Americans who have not obtained victory on foreign soil since 1993.

As for Woods, the veteran player comes off from his very first victory since 2013 along with his 80th PGA Tour Title at the Tour Championship last week. It highlights his unforgettable comeback to the golf scene, including the seven top 6 finishes.

During the start of his return, one of the goals is to make the Ryder Cup and fortunately, he is one of the captain's four picks. All these happened after his spinal fusion surgery. Woods is the 13th partner of Reed in the Ryder Cup, who is the reigning Masters champion.

USA Today reports US Captain Jim Furyk said, "We had a lot of options for Tiger and a lot of guys that wanted to play golf with him. Trying to find the right fit and the right person for both of them was the key."

At the moment, US juggernaut of Reed and three-time major champion Jordan Spieth has been broken up. Spieth is known for 4-1-2 as a team these past two Ryder Cups. Instead, Spieth will play with the 2017 PGA Tour player of the year named Justin Thomas, who will make his debut in the matches. In the third match, the two will face Tyrrell Hatton and Paul Casey.

Other players who will join the event are three-time major champion Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau for the third match and Jon Rahm with Justin Rose who is surprisingly not playing with Henrik Stenson.

The second match features no. 1 Dustin Johnson and no. 9 Rickie Fowler. They will be battling against four-time major champion Rory McIlroy and one of European Squad's five rookies, Thorbjorn Olesen.
