Xiaomi has already been one of the most loved smartphone makers throughout India and South-east Asia for its mid-range handsets. The company has clinched the top position as a superlative  OEM in its existing markets. It's now moving a step ahead to increase its popularity throughout the regions.

Xiaomi now announced the official list of its handsets which are in process or about to get the software update of Android 9 Pie or Android Oreo by the end of fourth quarter of this year.

XDA Developers was able to dig into the official listing of Xiaomi's devices which were lined up for either Android Oreo or, Android 9 Pie. According to the list surfaced by the source, the smartphones which have already received Android Oreo are Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 6, Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Lite, Mi 8 EE, Mi 8 Pro, Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, Mi Note 2 and Mi Note 3.

Among this, Mi 5s Plus has a few bug fixes pending at the moment which are expected to be resolved soon. Besides these, there are a number of devices lined up for the internal testing of Android Oreo in Q4 this year. These are Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus and Mi 5X. As per potential sources, Xiaomi will also roll out the full version of Android Oreo for these handsets after the internal testing of the software is completed on them. 

After the devices lined up for Android Oreo, next comes the list of devices which Xiaomi has racked up for the supreme update of Android 9 Pie. Notably, the company has already released Android Pie in its new range of devices, as per a report by The Indian Express. These include Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Mi 8 and Mi 8 EE.

There are also a few smartphones listed for the internal testing of Android 9 Pie by the end of the fourth quarter of 2018. These include Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8 SE and Mi Max 3. Smartphone analysts have also expected to see the full version of Android Pie on these devices by the end of this year after the testing procedure is completed. It must be noted in this context that Xiaomi uses its very own software named: MIUI, which is based on the Android's latest operating system support. The company is also expected to add its new range of smartphones for the update of Android 9 Pie in coming days.
