Lebron James posted a tweet on late Sunday night saying if stars aligned, it could serve as a flashpoint to one of the greatest and legendary modern-day duels in history, and that is a one on one match with Michael Jordan.

According to ESPN, this does not seem to be the case as Lebron James gave a sarcastic reply to a tweet of NBC Sports promotional video that features the legendary Jordan. He teased about solving the GOAT debate between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, which might go a long way toward the stirring pot.

The 33-year-old power forward of the Los Angeles Lakers (@KingJames) said on Twitter,

"IM READY!!!  Oh, my bad I thought, maybe u were, umm never mind back to my regularly scheduled program."

This was his reply on NBC Sports' (@SNFonNBC) tweet saying,

"How do you settle the debate over who is the 'Greatest of All Time?'@Jumpman23 wants to see it happen head-to-head."

As of writing, the tweet already gained more than 75k retweets and 256k likes. This remark reportedly started just a day after James continuously climb to the career scoring list. He already passed by Dirk Nowitzki for the sixth place during the LA Lakers' loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Nowitzki even told Tim MacMahon of ESPN that Lebron James will reach the top scorer level ever to play the game.

James is in his 432nd career 30-point game as well. And again, this passes Kobe Bryant for the fourth on the said list and has evoked a number that Jordan's fans knew very well - a season-high 35 points, placing his total career at 31, 202. Moreover, James possesses the 32,292 points of Jordan for the fourth place in his sights. The earlier mentioned source say he could pass it this upcoming season.

Furthermore, James will have a really difficult time coping with Jordan's in career scoring average. After the game last Saturday, James managed to up his game with 27.2 while Jordan is already in his 30.1.  As for the NBA titles, James is holding three to Jordan's six and the former also has the edge in rebounds with 7.4 vs. 6.2 per game, and assists with 7.2 average vs. 5.3.

One Twitter user named Amazu Ukoh (@itsZuBlack) replied on James' tweet saying,

"Let's be clear. LeBron James would NEVER EVER challenge MJ in his prime. This is the same Lebron that was scared to play Kobe 1 on 1 after Kobe said he would beat him without a doubt. & Bron says the game is never going to happen so stop asking him."
