For the purposes of reference, the current AirPods have the model number A1523, A1722 and A1602 marked on the box, indicating left and right AirPods and charging case. From the Smart Price, I think they have now passed through this mandatory certification process. The listing indicates an upgrade to Bluetooth 5, which suggests the two new model numbers refer to a left and right earbud rather than the charging case.
We know that Bluetooth 5 makes for better range, better data broadcasting and more. It's also important for the Internet of Things compatibility. The latest iPhones have Bluetooth 5 compatibility, since the iPhone 8.
The new features also result in reduced power usage and better battery life as a result. Surprisingly, the listing names the product as AirPods, which is enough to whet our appetites.
