"Pokemon Go" may have promised an unrivaled augmented reality "Pokemon" experience but - despite its popularity - seems to have under-delivered on the experience. But Nintendo's newest Switch "Pokemon Let's Go" games bring new features which allow the sharing of pokemon between "Pokemon Go" and "Let's Go" without letting any fans' "Pokemon Go" efforts go to waste.
Having a full roster in "Pokemon Go" is no longer a problem due to the fact that fans of the games can actually import pokemon from "Pokemon Go" to "Pokemon Let's Go: Pikachu" and "Pokemon Let's Go: Evee." With "Pokemon Let's Go: Pikachu" and "Pokemon Let's Go: Evee" finally giving players a chance to enjoy "Pokemon Go's" new mechanics alongside classic "Pokemon" features, it is now worth it to own both a "Pokemon Go" account and a "Let's Go" game. But how exactly does one transfer pokemon from "Pokemon Go" to "Pokemon Let's Go?"
Pokemon Go Hub recently covered the steps that players can take to transfer their "Pokemon Go" pokemon to either "Pokemon Let's Go: Pikachu" or "Pokemon Let's Go: Evee." "Pokemon Let's Go" players will first have to get to Fuschia city to unlock the GO Park location. For fans of the old "Pokemon" games, the GO Park is located where the old Safari Zone used to be.
Connecting "Pokemon Go" to "Pokemon Let's Go" is a two-step process that requires both a player's mobile device and Nintendo Switch to be ready. "Pokemon Go" can be set to be ready to connect to a Switch with a simple option located in the game's settings menu. Once "Pokemon Go" is ready to connect, player's will just similarly have to search for the "Pokemon Go" option in their "Pokemon Let's Go" setting menu.
Transferring Pokemon is a similar two-step process starting with readying "Pokemon Go" to transfer a pokemon in a player's roster. Once "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Let's Go" are connected, a Nintendo Switch icon appears on the upper right corner of the pokemon roster menu. Pressing the icon will allow the player to select the pokemon they wish to transfer to "Pokemon Let's Go."
To receive the pokemon from "Pokemon Go," players will have to talk to the receptionist at GO Park. Transferred pokemon will give the "Pokemon Go" account a candy for the respective pokemon for each transfer. Fans can appreciate the fact that such a transfer is more efficient than "Pokemon Go's" own internal transfer function as a transfer to "Pokemon Let's Go" already provides candy while adding value to the "Pokemon Let's Go" experience.
Unfortunately for fans, certain pokemon are unavailable for transfer from "Pokemon Go" to "Pokemon Let's Go." These pokemon include the Pikachu and Raichu hat variants, the Squirtle with sunglasses evolutionary line, and Mew. Thankfully, the "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Let's Go" transfer mechanic still provides a rich mechanic that enhances the experience of both games so the unavailability of certain pokemon variants is not a total loss.
