With people focused on news about the Galaxy S10 and its related models, Samsung blindsided most of the tech community when it showcased its new foldable phone at the Samsung Developers Conference 2018 in San Francisco. But how exactly will the new phone look like?
When Samsung unveiled the foldable phone - now being dubbed by the public as the Samsung Galaxy F - at the Samsung Developers Conference 2018, the tech giant made sure to keep a lot of the upcoming phone's details under wraps. The conference attendees were treated to dim lights everytime Justin Denison, SVP of Mobile Product Marketing pulled out the folding phone prototype to show to the crowd.
The Samsung conference attendees were able to see a working unit that transitioned smoothly between its front screen and internal screen. But aside from the phone's silhouette and basic foldability, the only information attendees took away from the presentation were from Denison's speech about how the new folding screen technology would revolutionize the smartphone industry.
Thankfully, Youtube user Concept Creator specializes in bringing speculations about upcoming devices to life. Concept Creator takes information leaks and speculation from tech journalists to create his visualizations. He has created renders and visualizations from across different brands with a long list of Samsung devices in his video history.
The digital artist recently released a video that showcases his vision of what the Samsung Galaxy F might look like when it gets released. For Concept Creator, it seems that his vision for the Samsung Galaxy F is a thinner profile with a wider screen compared to the foldable phone showcased by Justin Denison.
Enthusiasts will also notice that Concept Creator's visualization of the Samsung Galaxy F lacks the black bezels surrounding both the front and internal screen of the model shown during the conference. In addition, Concept Creator took some liberties with the placement of the phone's functional hardware such as cameras, headphone jacks, and charging port.
As BGR points out, Concept Creator's visualization of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy F seems particularly more modern than the block silhouette that was featured at the Samsung Developers Conference 2018. As beautiful as Concept Creator's renders are, the publication notes that it could be at least two to three years before smartphone enthusiasts could enjoy the aesthetics presented in the concept video.
With the Samsung creating buzz with its new folding phone, fans can now only wait for the tech giant releasing more concrete details about the phone's specifications, look, and release date. Hopefully, fans will be able to hold their very own foldable smartphones before 2019 ends.
