Blizzard rose to fame after creating the "Warcraft" sequels as well as the "Diablo" series. It continued developing and expanding games, including the first-person shooter "Overwatch." But it seems that the developer is having a new project coming in the near future, which is inspired by Niantic's overly famous mobile game, "Pokemon Go."

Kotaku spoke to one of Blizzard's current developers and said that there has been a lot of them playing mobile games, including "Pokemon Go," which in fact the legendary orc statue located in the middle of their grounds is a Pokemon Gym. "There are lots of people actually excited about mobile games," the developer said. "The reaction inside the company to Immortal is very different than the reaction outside the company."

The developer went on to say that because they also want to work on smaller projects, they thought that mobile games would make a lot of sense. With that being said, a team of Blizzard's developers called the Incubation team, decided to develop a mobile "Warcraft" game that gets its inspiration from Niantic's "Pokemon Go."

Niantic made a lot of money out of the mobile game during its first years since it was released, and Blizzard believes that a "Warcraft" mobile game can bring them great revenue. Further, "World of Warcraft" lead designer Cory Stockton is also a huge fan of "Pokemon Go."

The "Diablo" series has been huge since its release, and Blizzard previously expressed its thoughts to bring the series to mobile. The developers' announcement at BlizzCon 2018 on November 2 about creating a "Diable Immortal" mobile game received poor reactions from fans, accusing them of deserting the game's PC players.

With this "Pokemon Go" inspired "Warcraft" mobile game in development, developers at Blizzard believe that it can do wonders in the market as it has a whole lot more to it than Niantic's infamous mobile game that uses a gamer's smartphone camera to catch wild creatures.  The forthcoming mobile game's single-player mechanics is even better.

Another developer said that mobile games may not please all Blizzard's PC gamers - those that are used to the developer's hard-core games, but smaller projects like "Warcraft" mobile game will definitely be appealing to most developers. The developer also added that Blizzard co-founder Allen Adham is confident that these developments deserve every effort they have.

The developer's newest department called the "incubation," where Adham headed to in 2016 after returning to the company helps in developing new creative projects for Blizzard.
