The five-time All-Star Anthony Davis has only played twice during the postseason over the course of his NBA career for six years. He would be watching the playoffs from the couch one more time if the regular season ends today.

According to the report of SILVER SCREEN & ROLL, New Orleans Pelicans are currently sitting at the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference. There is a chance that Anthony Davis might consider forcing a trade away from his current situation if the Pelicans cannot punch a ticket to the playoffs again this season. The earlier mentioned source revealed how several NBA stars did over the past few seasons. After all that has happened, it is safe to say the Los Angeles Lakers will aggressively pursue the 25-year-old player.

Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus says the Lakers team looks forward to pairing Davis with LeBron James in the next few years. Davis reportedly stands on top of Lakers' list but he has no plans of hitting free agency until 2020. The Pelicans will need to trade him to Los Angeles and this can be considered an important move unless Davis says he will not be resigning in his current team.

Moreover, Davis has joined Rich Paul of Klutch Sports recently. He is the one who represents James while the pair in Los Angeles will lend both players the opportunity to unseat the Golden State Warriors. Eventually, Davis is set to replace the older James as the headliner of Lakers. Lebron James and Davis are both regular names in the MVP conversation despite the fact that they are in two different stages of their career. There has been no exception for this season. In the end, they could potentially be the greatest pair the NBA will see since Shaq and Kobe if the Lakers can somehow manage to have them on the same team.

Sadly, there is no reason for this to happen any time soon unless people consider Jarrett Jack as a trusted source. After all, Davis is still under the contract with New Orleans for two more seasons. The Pelicans are going to offer Davis a "supermax" extension and it is reportedly worth $230 million over five years. The earlier outlet cites it is the largest contract signed in the NBA history.

Furthermore, if Anthony Davis did want out of New Orleans next summer for some reason, there is no one player outside of LeBron James the Lakers is deemed untouchable.
