"Battlefield 5's" lackluster launch may not have been helped by the fact that the fan base is currently split arguing over the game's supposed historical inaccuracies but the game's creative decisions are not the only issues that fans have to complain over. A slew of last-minute issues looks to be stopping DICE from releasing their first free DLC update that gamers are hoping to fix multi-player balancing and "Battlefield 5's" single-player campaign.

According to Polygon, the "Battlefield 5" DLC titled "Tides of War Chapter 1: Overture" was supposed to release today, Dec. 4. The DLC was supposed to be released for free and promised a new multi-player map, additional cosmetic options, and a new single-player mission. Unfortunately, it seems fans of "Battlefield 5 will have to sit tight a little longer for the upcoming DLC.

The official "Battlefield 5" Twitter account posted an update earlier today that the release for "Tides of War Chapter 1: Overture" would be delayed. According to the account, the "Battlefield 5" developers spotted an issue that would occur due to the "Tides of War" update and has chosen to delay its release rather than let players experience a sub-par update. The "Battlefield 5" team did not disclose the actual nature of the issue that delayed the release of the awaited update.

The upcoming "Battlefield 5" update was supposed to add a new map called Panzerstorm which was promised to be a tank-focused arena for "Battlefield 5" multi-player games. Included with the update is the single-player mission titled "The Last Tiger" which will focus on the story of a German Tiger I tank commander. A feature on the PlayStation Blog reveals that the "Battlefield 5" downloadable single-player mission will be set during the last days of World War II.

In addition to the Panzerstorm map and "The Last Tiger" single-player mission, fans of "Battlefield 5" was also supposed to receive a new "Practice Range" mode. The new mode will supposedly allow dedicated "Battlefield 5" players to practice their shooting and driving skills without having to expose themselves to the multi-player competitive scene.

The "Battlefield 5" team did not give a new date for the update's new release but promised to provide fans of the game more news the next day or when news about the update's status becomes available. With the additional single-player and multiplayer content that has been promised by the upcoming update, fans of " Battlefield 5" can hopefully wait long enough for news from the development team before diverting their attention to another video game title.
