Despite not officially announcing the existence of the Galaxy S10, Samsung and some of its partners have just confirmed a significant chunk of the rumors and leaks that smartphone enthusiasts have been clamoring about during the past few months.
According to Slash Gear, AT&T, Verizon, and Qualcomm recent came out with announcements about a 5G phone that aligns with the information sourced by independent groups about the Galaxy S10. While the companies did not directly describe the upcoming smartphone specifically as the Galaxy S10, both AT&T and Verizon have confirmed that they are working hand-in-hand with Samsung to deliver the 5G smartphone to market by the first half of 2019.
To add to AT&T and Verizon's veiled acknowledgment of the existence of the Galaxy S10, AT&T might have also leaked the potential for the Galaxy Note 10. In a follow-up post, the network company mentions working with Samsung for another 5G capable device for AT&T customers in the second half of 2019.
Qualcomm, on the other hand, announced that Samsung will be working with the semiconductor and electronics manufacturer to bring Samsung's flagship 5G device - yet to be named the Galaxy S10 - to market in the first half 2019. Samsung vice-president for marketing Justin Denison also confirmed that the company was working with Qualcomm to deploy their upcoming 5G device with the help of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor and a 5G X50 Modem.
In addition, Qualcomm featured a proof-of-concept 5G device made by Samsung at the 2019 Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit that suspiciously looked like the aesthetic plans for the Galaxy S10 Lite. Slash Gear notes that the body of the proof-of-concept device could easily have been manufactured to obscure any relations to the Galaxy S10, but the cutaway position on the upper right side of the screen could be a dead giveaway to the anticipated front-facing camera cut-away according to rumors and leaks.
BGR notes that in addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the upcoming Galaxy S10 could also pack a new Qualcomm-manufactured 3D Sonic Sensor for its in-display fingerprint scanner. Similar to Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm did not mention if the upcoming device they are manufacturing components for is the Galaxy S10.
Smartphone enthusiasts looking forward to confirmation that the Galaxy S10 is every leak and rumor that has been confirmed by the announcements from the network and tech giants thankfully have a potential official announcement date. As Slash Gear points out, the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S10 could occur during the Samsung Unpacked event which is scheduled to happen next year on Feb. 24.
