Korean womenswear designer Jee Won explained that the United States "is already fascinated" with the Korean culture. K-Beauty and K-Pop have hit the country hard.

The global market intelligence agency Mintel noted that the Korean beauty market had become a part of the world's top 10 industries in no time. It has an estimated $13.1 billion in sales in 2018 alone. On the other hand, K-Pop has proved its mass appeal as it dominates the international music scene with the likes of BTS.
Won claimed that Korean fashion is on the verge of a global moment. Not only the Korean designers benefit from it, but the known and established ones as well. In Lysts' Year in Fashion report, it revealed that K-Pop boy bands such as BTS and EXO, and women K-Pop stars like CL and Park Bom are the "major global influencers" that drive trends all over the world.
When BTS Suga wore a shirt by Virgil Abloh, people who searched for the designer soared up to 120 percent. When Moschino named CL as one of its muses, the brand's sales also increased. "This is just the beginning, and K-pop will continue to inspire and dominate fashion trends next year," Lyst's communications manager Camila Clarkson said.
