Daenerys Targaryen may be falling into a trap come Game of Thrones Season 8. Tyrion Lannister may be plotting against her after all, and she does not even know it.
Tyrion has it easy with the Mother of Dragons as her Hand. He gives her wise counsel and helps her with her plan of taking back the Iron Throne. He is safe and secure under Daenerys' protection.
However, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) may not be safe at all with Tyrion as her Hand. According to a fan, the Lannister might even be plotting something evil with his sister Cersei. The viewer pointed out a lack of dialogue between Cersei and Tyrion in a scene in Game of Thrones Season 7 as a telling sign that something is amiss.
This happened when the siblings met again since Tyrion ran away from Kings Landing after he murdered their father, Tywin. It was when Tyrion talked to Cersei in private and asked for her help in defeating the White Walkers. Their dialogue was cut short after Tyrion realized that his sister is pregnant. Next thing viewers saw was Tyrion walking out and telling his peers that Cersei has given her support for the North.
Viewers did not see what happened beforehand, which according to the fan, may imply that she and Tyrion have something planned against Daenerys in Game of Thrones Season 8. Tyrion could have cut a deal with Cersei in exchange for the Iron Throne. Perhaps he made sure to it that Cersei's child ascends the throne and no one else. This would explain his look when he saw Jon enter Daenerys' room in Season 7 since he feared that their tryst could give birth to a child.
Moreover, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) practically admitted that he lies every now and then for his benefit. He let slip in a conversation with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) at Dragonstone that he is the master of deceit and even suggested that the new King of the North do the same even just a bit.
"Have you ever considered learning how to lie every now and then?"
It is likely that Cersei saw something beneficial in her alliance with Daenerys. Even Jaime was surprised to hear that she has called a truce with the Mother of Dragons. However, what can Tyrion gain from betraying Daenerys and what reason does he have to reveal her.
Fans point out the fact that Tyrion is in love with Daenerys, but she has feelings for Jon Snow. Unrequited love is reason enough to betray someone. Likewise, George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire books reveal that Daenerys is betrayed "once for love." Regardless if this happens or not, fans will have to find out what happens to Tyrion and Daenerys when Game of Thrones Season 8 airs in April 2019.
