Fans still await final word from HBO about the Game of Thrones Season 8 release date. The network only announced the show's return in April, although a fan surmised it arrives in the middle of the month.

The anticipation to see the show return to TV screens builds up with the start of the new year. The teaser trailer HBO released for Game of Thrones confirmed a return in April 2019, although when exactly fans do not know yet.

However, if one Reddit user is correct, then the Game of Thrones Season 8 release date could be on April 14. Reddit user Cubuffs424 made some calculations based off on fan-made theories about the April 14 premiere and connected a pattern based off on the release of footage for Season 7.

The user pointed out that the first official trailer for the penultimate season came on Nov. 27, 2016, and the season then premiered on July 16, 2017, which is 231 days later. Cubuffs424 followed the same pattern with the release of the Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser trailer on Aug. 26, 2018, and added 231 days to it. The outcome falls on April 14, 2019. This may just be purely coincidence, but when it comes to the return of the show, one can only hope so much.

With Game of Thrones Season 8 still four months away, fans continue to share theories and speculations about who dies and who takes the Iron Throne. A recent study into the deaths of the characters in the series revealed that Cersei is likely going to survive while Daenerys dies.

Meanwhile, there is also the theory that Cersei's reign in Westeros will end with Tyrion taking over the throne. Fans speculate that he is a Targaryen and not a Lannister, which puts him next in line to the throne and not Jon Snow, who turned out to be Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark's son.

Then the Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser trailer hinted at the fall of The House Lannister with the golden lion figurine engulfed in flames. Fans believe that Daenerys' dragons will burn Kings Landing to the ground.

Regardless of who reigns over Westeros, the fact remains that the Night King and his army of White Walkers are on their way to the North. Everyone must unite to defeat them. There will be carnage when the humans battle the undead in Game of Thrones Season 8.
