The WWE continues to find some way to fill up the huge vacuum left by Roman Reigns, the promotions' biggest star. Reigns was forced to take a leave of absence after revealing he had leukemia back in October 2018.
Right now, several stars have been trying to step up. There is the current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar who is set to face Braun Strowman, another WWE star seemingly getting some push. Vince McMahon has a lot of other big names in the locker room which includes former champion, Seth Rollins.
The Kingslayer was last embroiled in a storyline with another former Shield member in Dean Ambrose but it seems that that storyline is over and done with. Looking ahead, Rollins is one of the tipped favorites for the WWE Royal Rumble where a victory would likely confirm his spot for Wrestlemania 35.
Incidentally, Rollins gave WWE fans an update on the medical status of Reigns when he appeared on Fox channel 2. He shares that Reigns is bent on making a comeback and that his immediate priority is to get healthy right now. He adds that the former champion is in high spirits and doing good.
Rollins' revelation is good news to Roman Reigns and WWE fans who have followed him through the years. Also known as Leati Joseph "Joe" Anoaʻi, the Big Dog endured a lot of adversity through the years on his immediate rise to the top. That included criticism on how he was booked, forcing the WWE to make abrupt changes to mend his storyline.
Rollins was officially added to the WWE Royal Rumble recently alongside Finn Balor. The WWE pay-per-view happens on Jan. 27 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, Cageside Seats said.
The announcement of Balor and Rollins appends the previous list of participants for the WWE battle royale. Previously announced as joining were R-Truth, Drew McIntyre and the trio of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods.
Skybet made Rollins the overwhelming favorite to survive the 30-man melee and go on to take the title from Lesnar, assuming he survives the Monster Among Men.
Possibly standing in the way of Rollins is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who, if he participates, is a 14/1 favorite to win it all. Rollins holds a 10/11 odd behind The Rock.
Should this be the course of the WWE, it will be interesting if the storylines will be tweaked a bit more. All that falls in the hands of the WWE writers with hopes of raising the ratings.
