Ahead of the release of Avengers: Endgame in theaters fans continue to spurt theories about the possible outcome of the heroes' death in Avengers: Infinity War. One fan claims their death is permanent but that they also exist in a different reality.

Reddit user CaptainKyloStark shared interesting speculation about the superheroes' fate following the Decimation. In line with previous theories that the sequel could involve time travel and split realities, the fan says the film will see the surviving Avengers running through time to rescue the other heroes who are still alive in alternate timelines where "different decisions may have led to different outcomes."

The fan refers to the 14,000,605 versions of the fight that Doctor Strange saw where only one sees the Avengers winning the fight against Thanos. Instead of versions, the Sorcerer Supreme meant different timelines or realities. In the reality that viewers saw in Avengers: Infinity War those affected by the Thanos snap are indeed dead, but they are alive in either of the timelines Doctor Strange saw.

"Somewhere our heroes are dead, alive, or vastly different from the one we know."

The fan adds that Captain America in the Avengers: Endgame trailer is different from the one in the previous film. He is an old version of the super soldier who exists when SHIELD never fell due to Hydra. Somehow, this theory explains why Steve Rogers looks different in the trailer than from his appearance in Infinity War. He looks clean-shaven and younger in Avengers: Endgame. This theory also supports previous speculation that Thanos created an entirely different reality using the Reality Stone where he killed the heroes.

Likewise, this theory supports what the Russo Brothers said about the fate of the heroes following the Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War. The directors confirmed that the Avengers are 100 percent dead.

The only problem with this theory though is the fact that Spider-Man and Nick Furry, who both died, are alive. They are in the Spider-Man: Far From Home movie. Moreover, Marvel still has plans for the heroes in Phase 4. The studio is still on board with Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Black Panther 2, and Doctor Strange 2. Unless the heroes appearing in these films are from another reality than what viewers saw in Avengers: Infinity War, then it would explain why they are alive and not dead in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
